Front runner again unfortunately.  Underdogs don't win anymore.

I still bet the goofy odds hoping for a silly pay out though.

The favorite, Omaha Beach, was scratched yesterday. So things are more wide open suddenly.

If that silver haired Bob guy has any I bet they are front runners.  Hasn't he won every time but once the last few years?

The 2nd, 3rd & 4th morning line favorites (Game Winner, Roadster & Improbable) are all trained by Baffert. They ae now the top 3 choices.
No confirmation of the rumor Baffert was seen entering Omaha Beach's stable with a club he borrowed from Jeff Gillooly.

as of Thursday i am going with Roadster but may change as i study it a bit more.  Derby is hard to bet but get big payouts usually if you can win.  Love betting Trifecta's in the Derby. they can be huge.

My process is pick a horse whose a) name is cool or b) odds are decently favorable.  Then I pick a low odds horse just in case I get lucky.  I never do.

For the 1st time in derby history that the horse that crossed the finish line 1st has been disqualified...

Knocked out the horse I bet on in the process ...  :|   Thankfully it was fake money!  =)

I'm surprised the stewards had the guts to overturn the win.  Not exactly the PR the Kentucky Derby would ever want.  The winning (and now disqualified) jockey's career went from the moon to the darkest cellar of the Red Keep in about 15 minutes.

That is true.  I never considered the jockey that was disqualified.  Must have been a heartbreaker ... it looked to be a legit call.

    Well that sucked...

I was going to bet on one of the 50-60 odds horses but I said nah, the long shots don't ever win.

    Stupid me.

Dq Cost me about $110 but probably the right call.

I heard around $42M was lost by betters on that call.  This is a bookies' dream come true

That 65-1 shot cost myself, and my 3 betting partners about 10k, Im guessing. I had 4 0f the top 5 finishers in my superfecta, and I would have had the trifecta. I also had maximum security and the 3rd place finisher in a $10 exacta, which Im guessing was an additional $1500.

An added bonus was just having maximum security disqualified, because of course I had HUGE MONEY on him to win.

    A complete nightmare for me.

But that's why they call it gambling.

I'm not a gambler and the only things I ever bet on are Triple Crown races.  I usually just put $25 down between two horses to win - $10 on a top 5 favored and $15 on a bottom 3 longshot.  I didn't bet at all this time.  Had I done so, that would've been just shy of a grand.
