My wife is going to the derby this weekend. Do I trust her to make the bets for me or just go to the OTB myself on Sat morning???

For sure! She's going to be with a huge group of girls for a bachelorette party....the chances of her putting my bet in and putting it in right are about 3%.

    Firing Line

Has lost twice to one of the Derby Favorites...Both times by a nose
His last race, he won the Sunland Derby....By 14 lengths...And set a track record...

The 2 Derby Favorites will be 2-1....3-1
Firing Line will be anywhere from 15-1 to 20-1
Gary Stevens is a hall of fame jockey.

Now don't get me wrong...He may very well come in last
OR HE MAY VERY WELL WIN THIS RACE!

definitely do it yourself. i don't trust anyone else to put my bets in and i actually fucked up a bet i put in for someone one time. luckily it only cost me like $80 bucks but at the Belmont one year a friend asked me to put in a bet for an exacta and rushed i had a brainfart and didn't box it. when i went to cash the winning ticket yup no box. i paid the guy but since i won't make other people's bets.

Are her friends rich?!?!? There's insane wait lists to get in for each year's Derby. Crazy that they managed to 'get in' as a bachelorette party.. Just curious.. How did they manage that??

They bought tickets way in advance. Plus, they're in the infield so the tickets were only like $40-50 each so not too bad.

Yeah the infield is totally where it's at!! And k figured ggey had to buy them
WAAAAAY in advance. The peeps I worked for on track would reserve seats after the race was run.. ( like on the same day) for the next year, regardless of wether any of their stable was to call for a running slot.. ( that only happened once tkough, two years before I joined rank.. Lol I always miss the good shit!! Hahahaha!

not sure exactly what I'm betting on exacta's or trifecta's yet but i will probably at least put some money down on these 3 horses to win:

    Dortmund
    Frosted
    Upstart

I really like Dortmund in general but since the top favorites have a hard time winning the Derby i always like to put some money on the mid to long shots.

Lol I do that every year! As a horsewoman, I prefer to choose on the approach. I like to gauge stride versus control, weighed against composure.. That and their stats and racing history tells you a lot about the horse that will 'show up' in the race to be run!

One of my "claims to fame"

I had this horse at 36-1
I hit the tri, I hit the exacta.
I had a friend from this board at home, following the race for me. I was working, and didn't own a smart phone at the time.

    She calls me and says...

You want the good news? Or do you want the REALLY GOOD NEWS???

She knew I had just won THOUSANDS!!!!

    no one picked American Pharaoh?

i didn't bet nor did i have any clue as to who the horses were. I usually go by names that I like.
Would have picked either Carpe Diem or Danzig Moon though
