Lol. Well, the chances go way up in that sport just because they land on a steep decline , plus the snow is looser up at the top of the landing hill - that increases the chances at least.

Pretty crazy crash. The kind of crap you can suffer at age 20 and just go to the bars that same night and do some Jagermiester shots and party until 3AM.  At age 40 that crash puts you in a Stephen Hawkins wheelchair until the day you die. Sad!

I can barely even trip over a curb without seriously hurting myself at this point. Basically, if I'm going down, I'm probably going to get hurt. Yeah, it's quite a change from when I was young and could jump off the roof of the house onto a lawn chair cushion and be totally fine, lol.

I believe that's the annual teddy bear toss for the Flames. Everyone brings a teddy bear to the game and then they all throw it on the ice and they gather them up and give them out to kids in need. It's done every year with most Canadian NHL and junior league teams. It's really fun!

didn't think they were teddy bears at first but they are.  Although i don't think this is for the Flames.  looks like a minor league hockey game. Unless it's the minor league for the Flames.

Oh, you're right - looks like minor or junior league, but they're playing at the Saddledome apparently - look at the rink. That's the Flames venue. Maybe they played there for the teddy bear toss night just because it draws a huge crowd.
