  • Yeah Steeplechasing ain't no Fucking JOKE!! The horses are averaging 25-30 WPH between hedges, and those hedges are an average of 6/12 to 7 ft talk depending on the class of race being run. I've only been Foxgunting and done three day eventing, ( long distance run/Jump combo of shows). To be honest.. I have NOT the calls to do this!! Lol! And that video is why!

    It's almost hypnotic.
  • Does it count if the horse wins without the jockey?

Way to go horse for not letting a little thing like no jockey stop you.
my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf
  • Lol! They're herd animals, if everyone else is running so is the riderless horse. And no they have to have a jockey ON board to win. That race car clip almost made me jump!! That would scare the shit outta me!!

    Exactly

He only gets a 9.5, since he screwed up the landing.

Well, there's a right way and a wrong way to fall off a horse. It looked to me like he knew he wasn't going to make the jump and was trying to slip off before getting to it. Unfortunately his timing was off. Spectacularly so, I'd say.

OTOH he may have a great future in Cirque du Soleil.

He's not jumping off, the horse stumbles a bit, that throws the rider off balance, and you CANNOT make a jump in horse back from an unseated place like that, hence the catapult reaction of the stirrup irons. Hated riding English.. Those stirrups are deadly if you're not on
Point the whole time. But jumping with a horse.. One of the neatest feelings ever..

The only time I've jumped was riding English, although nothing like Steeplechase jumps. It is really cool. I learned to ride English in a P.E. class in college! One of the first things they taught us was how to fall off.

We taught that in Western too. My English instructor made us 'earn' our saddles by having us start out BAREBACK, and we weren't allowed to use our heels after the first two sessions. You
Learn to hold on with your thighs, not your legs. I did bareback jumping.. But it was a hard sport to win in because of the difficulty, and it hadn't quite taken off yet.. Now I see YouTube vids all the time, people jumping bareback.. It really was one of the neatest feelings ever! I miss my horses.. :-(
  • Yeah I took English Lang Arts, and English Horsemanship in college at the same time.. Needless to say it was interesting trying to switch gears!

^^ The chunk of block from the top. Look at it before and after. It's missing a huge chunk in the top mid section.

Unless his current crop of offspring are joining ISIS or One Direction, there is no way someone stages an "axe-to-nuts", even if it's a whiffle ball bat.

Any normal male will pre-flinch if you throw a predetermined paper airplane at thy peanuts.
  • Lmfao!! Oh shit.. I can't Even watch the last one!! So.. Killing unborn offspring is still murder.. At least to me.. Thus.. That guy is an aXe murderer! ( jk)
