Slowest Year Since 2002

NoloadNoload Monticello, Georgia Posts: 1,630
Is that right? With the S.A. shows on the calender and only one other credible rumor for Sept New York show will this be the least shows since 2002? No years since 2004 have went under 15 not to mention all of the EV shows. Seems really light even in a non record promoting year. I wont completely lose hope, for a few additional US dates, until probably July.

It's only March. Plenty of time for more things to be announced, be it PJ or EV solo or whatever.

I was fortunate enough to see at least one show every year from 2003-2014. So if they don't tour the U.S. this year, so be it.

Being missed is part of the business plan when you're a band like PJ. Yeah 10club members would go everytime but would the casual 90s fan see them a year later? Im not sure about that. That and they get family time. Its a win win for them to take breaks.

Just get used to it everyone. They are just going to keep playing less as time marches on, until finally.... all gone.

Many to most older prominent musicians have families. They get to choose. We get to hope. I wish there were other bands that I was insane about that toured more...there just aren't. I guess it will be that much sweeter the next show I get to see.

Nothing to worry about. PJ are the new Stones. They'll be touring in 2040.

Ummm, what rumor for New York in September???

I am wondering if they are laying low for what may be a massive 2016. Hoping for a new album, tour, and rock 'n roll HOF induction. If they did this next year, I'd be fine with them taking this year off for the most part.

The albums will continue to be infrequent because they don't need a new one to tour IMO. I don't think we will see a change in that formula - every 3-4 yrs a new record. The touring faithful are part of why I don't think it will change.

They played the Midwest last fall and that will hold me over for a while. Besides, I need a new guitar. :-) Twenty-five years worth of boots are always around to enjoy until the next tour.

A tour (or a couple of shows) in the southeast in support of Lightning Bolt would be nice.

The would be nice. Feels like GA and FLA are going to have to settle for the occasional festival.
