Ratio of males to females on the PJ Forum

Yeah, I'm still a relative newbie here, having only officially joined last November (my fandom does go back to near the beginning though, 1991, lol). As a youth I'd thought about getting away from Sandy due to teasing and so on, but ultimately decided that it was going to be too much of a pain. It probably helped me as a teen meeting a grown man whose name was Kim, lol. As an adult, I just don't care, lol, if someone's going to make those types of comments, it says far more about them than it ever will me.deadendp said:
I go by other names on other boards and forums too.
Darth, I don't see you around very much, so I haven't formed any sort of ideas about you. Yes, 'Sandy' is generally a female geared name, but I've met a Courtney, Alexis, and Tracy...all males. I won't assume someone's gender until I meet them, and even then, you never know..."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

I also know a guy by the name of Kim. He and his wife own a tree farm in the valley.RKCNDY said:

And though I'm relatively new around here, I'm with you-- a fan from the beginning. Glad to have you here!
And for whatever it is worth, the forum is screwed up again. My words shouldn't look like you wrote them. Rrr.Post edited by deadendp on2014: Cincinnati

Don't forget about Marion Morrison! I bet no one gave him shit, either.0

It may have been my bad, I tried editing what I was quoting to just keep the relevant bit, I guess from now on I'll just leave the whole thing in place, lol.
Glad to be here, I've spent most of my fandom more or less in isolation, having only know a couple people I'd describe as fans, it's nice to feel more a part of the PJ community, I have to say."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

The quote function is off from time to time. Probably not you at all.DarthMaeglin said:It may have been my bad, I tried editing what I was quoting to just keep the relevant bit, I guess from now on I'll just leave the whole thing in place, lol.

I read once that he said he never got used to being called John. That's why he used his childhood nickname of Duke.hedonist said:Don't forget about Marion Morrison! I bet no one gave him shit, either.

I am a female, and yes, that's why I put what I did in my signature. Doesn't help my name is Sam either, though!"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

Who coulda made that mistake Hedo?Your pretty obvious.Just sayin.hedonist said:I like this thread!
I've been mistaken here for a guy a few times, but it's no biggie. More interesting to figure out what, if anything, gave off that impression. And I've certainly done the same toward others here.
I guess it's some strange melange of username, avatar, tone, words, etc.
Maybe it's just me but I think it's pretty easy after reading a post or 2 to see who falls where.Except for Gambs,he's like a bearded circus lady.0 -
I think the fun part is trying to put a face to the words.0

I will admit I was guilty of thinking you were a dude...I think it was your username though, and I never saw anything from you that screamed I'm a girl...but I know better now...SD48277 said:It's not just you, Amy. I used to get that a lot.
I have not been mistaken as a dude to my knowledge, but that might be because I had avatars of myself...Music is my Religion and Pearl Jam, my Savior!

I hope it's not sexist to say that having Siren in your screen name immediately made me conclude you're a woman. I realize PJ's done a song with that title, lol, but my brain still goes to the mythical ones, lol. Which says more about me than it does you, I think, lol."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

Well, I was playing off the song and the mythical creature when I came up with my username, so don't feel weird for thinking of them...DarthMaeglin said:I hope it's not sexist to say that having Siren in your screen name immediately made me conclude you're a woman. well, I can't quote so.... "welcome" Darth! The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

It's funny, all this PJSiren talk got me to go back and re-examine the lyrics to the song...and it this twit's opinion (see my quote below, lol) that either meaning of the word can fit (gonna reread it a couple more times right now, lol). Never looked at the song that way before, lol, thanks for twisting my mind in that direction, lol!PJSiren said:
