For whatever good it will do I have written my GOP Senator expressing my thoughts on his signature on this. Dude has lost the chance for my vote coming 2016. This among other usual party line lock step bullshit.

I'm not sure Netanyahu's visit to the States was entirely meaningless after all. It seems Congress understood his secondary message: it's okay to undermine your most significant alliances to further your own agenda.

Yeah. But what does this do to the US? Where does it all bring this country and what can we expect of the future? Is this the beginning of One World Order?

What does that have to do with the topic at hand? Don't get off topic. If you are just dying to get your question answered, I am not so sure. But very possible.

    the title of the act?
    18 U.S. Code § 953 - Private correspondence with foreign governments

Ok. But was it done to the knowledge of President Obama? Not likely. Was he involved in the letter? No. It's treason.

This is an alarming thing, I'm pretty shocked more people aren't either reading it, or commenting. This really shows that partisan politics will break this country apart literally. But wait, we live in the greatest country in the world, nothing will tear us apart…
Do you know what treason means? This letter is not treason.

No, it is not specifically treason, but it is seditious!
It is also factually innacurate, foolish, and damaging to every aspect of our foreign relations.
    Monkey Driven, Call this Living?
  • all of this because we have a black president.

    seriously.

does anybody think for one second this would have happened under anybody else?

would any other party so blatantly throw the president under the bus by directly sabotaging our foreign policy?

they have so much hatred for this president, they are willing to jeopardize the entire deal.

i am telling you, these republicans are bad people. they will try to tie the hands of the next administration and sell them down the river just to make the current guy look bad.

it is petty, juvenile, and deplorable.

Just imagine if democrats did this. Republicans would be drooling at the mouth to have offenders imprisoned.

This was a insubordination at its simplest and a chickenshit move.

Talk about not being American and showing weekends to the Evildoers.

Unless it is/was specifically overturned or written with an end date it stays on the books .

Yeah thought same but some Legal Expert Talking head made the point that laws do get stale and loose power.

Has as much power as a prosecutor is willing to put in it. My view anyway. Get a passionate litigator on it and it can get traction.

If the Dems did this to Bush, heads would need to roll, burn them at the stake, death by firing squad, off to Guantanamo.

  • actually i lied. the best thing about this is that if there is an agreement, agreed upon by iran and the whole of europe and the us breaks the deal under the new president, it will be the united states who looks bad within the international community. not iran.

This letter will be meaningless after the news cycles stop covering it. It won't even be in the debates during the next election. It's completely irrelevant.

But let's not forget that it's not always the rebublicans that do or say stupid things.

it will not be meaningless. this will come up again.

when someone tries to unseat these people in an election, this will be brought up. this is a blatant attempt to sabotage a nuclear pact. this is not something that is going to be forgotten. such blatant disrespect of the presidency will not be forgotten. people like me will make sure it is not forgotten.

actually, lately it is the republicans that are saying and doing stupid things. name one thing that the republicans have been right about. can you? can anybody?
