Friday night's show at the Greek in LA was so great. Really good to see Ben and the IC's back together after 8 years. They sounded amazing and you could tell they were loving the hometown crowd. Wish I could have caught another show on this run but with a new album coming next year, looks like plenty of BHIC activity to follow.

I was considering buying some tickets for the upcoming show at The Capitol Theatre but holy shit, ticket price are way more insane than I thought. As much as it kills me, gonna have to pass.

Had the same thought regarding the House of Blues show here in Boston. He was awesome at Boston Calling back in May but I'm not sure I want to drop $120 on a pair to see him again.

Bought tickets to see them in Philly. Considering heading to DC to catch a show at the 9:30 club (I love that place) but think I need to save my pennies for the potential Pearl jam and Ween tours

I lied, I bought some  My mom expressed some interest, so I had to get them. Will be a nice holiday present!

Pretty cool, didn't even realize when I bought, each purchase comes with an actual CD, not just a download code. Now I just gotta wait til April for both!

Looking forward to the new album and tour. Had a blast at the LA show and happy to know they'll be out on the road again next year after this year's reunion tour.

Pretty cool opportunity to win tickets and a meet & greet with Tunespeak.

  • As much of a pain in the ass as the the place is, I'll be at the 930 club in April.

Got a copy of the album early via a giveaway from KCRW (along with tix for the Hollywood Bowl show). After the first couple listens, I have to admit I was expecting a bit more. Guess it's due to waiting 8+ years so I'm hoping some of these will grow on me, especially after I see them live. There are a few songs that I enjoyed like "Shine" and also the reggae style of "Finding Our Way." I've listened to a few of the live sessions that Ben has done solo acoustic over the past few weeks and I really liked "Deeper and Deeper" in that setting. The best part overall is that Ben's back with the Innocent Criminals and will be playing lots of shows so I'm looking forward to that.

Saw them at the Capitol last night, first show of the tour. Seen Ben all different ways (solo, Relentless 7, with Charlie Musselwhite) but first time with the Innocent Criminals. What an amazing show! Definitely my favorite Ben show other than maybe solo at Carnegie Hall (but what can top Carnegie Hall really). LOVE Juan Nelson. The opener CP Stelling was really good too.

Soooo, if anyone wants to go to the Beacon show (see post above) PM me ASAP! I can also meet you in midtown Mon-Wed and will lower price to reflect no shopping of course. Or I can throw in express shipping at no additional charge.

Saw them last summer at Wolf Trap ampitheater in Vienna, VA... incredible show. Totally blown away.

I just saw them again tonight at 9:30 Club in DC. And I left early. That club is so freaking overrated. I hate every show I see there because the sound sucks balls. They bring in the best bands in the world and then make them sound like shit. Every single time. I'm boycotting 9:30 Club from here on out. I don't care who they get next. I'm not going.

I can't believe I left Ben Harper before it was over. Not good. And it wasn't his fault at all.

That said, the people who don't know any better were enjoying themselves.

I am really enjoying the new songs. I love Pink Balloon, think it's a nice little rocker. Seeing them next week and I am super excited.

I must have missed this download of the Red Rocks show from last year. It is no longer available. Anyone have this they would be willing to upload?

  • I'm going to see Ben for the first time tonight! Can anyone tell me what time he has been hitting the stage on this tour? I believe doors open at 6. Seems kinda early. The opening act reads like he could be good. Christopher Paul Stelling? I'm hoping to catch him as well.

I think they were on 2 hours after doors at the Boston show.

    Don't miss Christopher Paul Stelling!!

  • What a great show, by the way the other night. Christopher Paul Stelling was phenomenal as well. What a powerful voice and great guitar playing. Bought his vinyl at the show. After the show met him and his fiancé, Julia Christgau, who both graciously signed my record sleeve. His Julia sings on the album as well. I asked if he's coming back to Toronto anytime soon, to which he replayed, "Yeah on May the 10th". My response, "EEEYYYYeah man, Pearl Jam is in town that night." Too bad. I asked if he maybe played early that night, I'd check him out pre-show. He said, "Yeah maybe, bring Eddie with you." "Haha, sure we're tight!"
He seemed like a genuine guy. Julia was running the merch table at times. Nice people.

Ben blew the roof off the place at times, and mellowed it out at others. Great night! Always love Massey Hall!

Holy crap! Where is he playing on May 10th? I was also at the show at Massey Hall, and it was killer. I have never been disappointed by a Ben Harper show.

Awesome. CPS is really, really quite a talent. I saw him for the first time at Newport Folk Festival last year and he proposed to Julia on stage after his set!

May 10th, Christopher Paul Stelling is playing at the Burdock. Bloor Street West. It says 8:30 though. A little late if I'm to make the PJ show
