Seller's Remorse? Contemplating vinyl sale.
I've been on the fence for a while with selling off the small vinyl collection I have. Even with the prices that some of the records go for, it is hard for me to actually think about selling. It's the cool factor of having them in the collection, not the monetary potential that keeps me from selling. But now I'm wanting to do more with posters and know how much I could offset framing costs.
So, I'm wondering, have any of you sold items and regretted it? Not because the price went up and you lost out on some $, but just because you missed something in the collection?
The other part of the equation is that I would want the records to go to a PJ forever home, not someone buying as an investment to flip it down the road. I know, either I want to sell it or not. I want to give some good deals, but the thought of some flipper turning a larger profit because I'm trying to be a nice guy to a fellow fan really keeps me from selling.
Any advice would be great. And, no, I'm not ready to post a list of albums or prices so please don't get mad if I don't reply to questions of that sort....

It's amazing what you hear when you take time to listen.

Do what makes you the happiest. Shop around for good framing deals too, if you are on the fence about selling the vinyl. Best of luck. And I'm calling dibs on your Benny if you have one and sell if for a reasonable price
I can also understand if someone does regret selling due to financial troubles.

Thanks to all who have replied, some good nuggets for me to think on. This place is so awesome for support and advice, if I decide to sell some, I know good homes are available!

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.
Have regretted it ever since and have been building my vinyl collection back up - have re-acquired Benny, Lost Dogs, RVM (sealed too), No Code and a few other bits and pieces since, but am aware there's some things I sold I'm unlikely to ever see again.
Not even going to bother trying to build up the CD's again - am never going to see Freak, Give Way or the Jap Mini-CD's available anywhere.
I can offer four simple words of advice.
Do not do it
Also, I was looking at some of the records and our 10 yo boy was asking me about them and was excited about the possibility of digging out my old record player and seeing how it worked. I think it could be a great thing to teach him some of the mechanics of how a record works.
So, thanks again to all for your stories! For those of you on the hunt to rebuild your collections...best of luck on finding the pieces again!
Actually, I've sold a number of PJ albums here and have never regretted it. All of the people that I sold them to seemed very cool and planned on spinning them whether they were sealed or not, which I liked. But then, even if they kept them sealed and in mint condition to sell down the road, that would be fine with me too.
I do kinda regret selling my McCready bobblehead. That's probably the only thing though
