I thought I was the only one who felt this way.

I think it's a 50/50 split on that album. I really liked it, actually. But soundgarden is an odd duck for me. As much as I love their music, I don't listen to them that often. Maybe cause it's so hard to sing along to. LOL
Well since the Squamish Music Festival line-up is really weak.., it sure would be nice to see them headline Pemby at the end of July. That would be an absolute blast. That or a couple shows at the Gorge one weekend this summer.
No chance for Pemberton as they played it last year. Can still hold out hope for the Gorge though! (You're right about the Squamish Festival lineup. Awful.)
I thought King Animal kicked ass, so I am pumped for this news.
I also think maybe we're due for some EV solo sometime soon? At least that's what I'm hoping for, if no PJ shows. EV solo shows are so special and always really memorable.
Also pumped for RNDM. Loved their debut album and thought they really rocked it on tour. Lots of chemistry, it was a really fun show to see!

Nah. I think a lot of people were underwhelmed by King Animal. It's not BAD. It's just doesn't get the blood pumping either. It's just kind of blah IMO. Hoping for better this time around, now that they've been working together for a couple of years. Remember that album was what they got after reuniting after a 14 year break.

Can we really expect anything mind blowing out of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden at this point? I think all we can expect is solid rock music. At least for me the high wears off sooner after a new record because I've listened to the bands for 20 years and there may be new songs but not a new style.
