Here are the groups the murderer liked on his personal facebook page:
Huffington Post, Rachel Maddow, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Bill Nye “The Science Guy,” Neil deGrasse Tyson, gay marriage groups, and a host of anti-conservative/Tea Party pages.
It looks like we have a progressive madman
Favoriting and agreeing are two different things though it could be indication. As pointed out earlier would he have done same under same parking issue if they were white Christians?
Callen...you are right...I don't think he would have done the same if they were white. I think there is absolutely a racial and/or religious aspect to this. I think my point is that the bigot can exist on the "left" as much as they live on the "right". While it is likely a hate crime this guys is clearly no conservative.
I don't know about the politics of mass shooters myself... I've read that, conversely, nearly all serial killers are Republican, lol..... the only real pattern I actually see is that pretty much all mass shooters and serial killers, just about all murderers in general, are male. Perhaps that would be a more useful topic of conversation.

I've been saying this for a long time.
Males are a problem. Genetically predisposed to cause all kinds of problems with society shaping us into the men we are expected to be.
I know of a couple that resisted the trend to place boys in 'typical' boy programs and instead placed their son in dance at a very early age. While other boys with a similar story might have a different experience, this particular boy is experiencing social problems now that he's older.
What am I saying? I'm saying the problem is huge. We don't want males to be macho and tough, yet we disproportionately groom them to be so. Breaking the mold might be admirable, but it's not without a cost in some cases.

This is why I don't have my son playing hockey. In Toronto that kind of "macho" grooming on the ice has gotten out of control. You can learn how to be a man without that level of aggression.
I wonder if "being a man" is consistently defined or viewed.
As a woman with a father who was honest with his strengths and weaknesses of being a man, of just being, it sounds like the young sons and daughters of our denizens here are fortunate. You think, you care, plus you have some nice taste in music.

I disagree BS.My son played for 11 years at a high level and played Div 1 College football.I can't tell you the opportunities and open doors those experiences has given him.The leadership,Hard work, commitment, commradery, discipline all are extremely valuable lessons in life.Being a man to look up to is values bestowed upon young men by those of us who guide them and influence them.My son isn't an asshole because he was raised to be honest and benevolent a Gentleman and trust worthy.its on us.

I didn't say sports in general are a problem RR. I was specifically talking about Toronto hockey...the hockey culture here has become extremely intense at too young of an age and is teaching a lot of the wrong lessons. My son plays a ton of organized basketball and baseball and is getting great lessons and discipline from both.
That's good he's still getting those lessons. But that intensity is becoming way more prevelant in youth sports. Many use these sports as a spring board to go to better schools or better teams. There is always a higher level.A lot of the parents are nuts also. IMO if your son has a passion for the sport don't hold him back because of the culture. The rest always works itself out.I believe the individual can make it what they want.
Where I live the youth hockey association has threatened to ban all spectators (aka parents) from all weekend games because of the abuse they are piling on the refs and opposing players. Wtf?? The association hopes that just the threat of doing this will make the parents calm the fuck down and behave, but they're willing to go ahead with the ban if they have to in an attempt to protects the refs from abuse and the kids from the terrible influence of these competitive psycho parents. Clearly a LOT of them are a problem. This comes soon after one hockey dad was convicted of uttering threats, after telling a 9 year old that he was going to kill him after his son was checked.

i am an athletic trainer and i worked at one of the largest public high schools in the st louis area for 7 years. this was in a very nice area of south st louis county. there was a lot of new money down there.
i can tell you with 100% certainty that the biggest problem with youth sports are the parents. i can not tell you the number of fights i have seen between parents at high school games. i have noticed that for some reason the more affluent schools have the biggest percentage of asshole parents. and of these affluent schools, for some reason basketball parents are the worst. i have never seen ref and opposing player verbal abuse as bad as it is in these affluent basketball parents. i congratulate your part of Canada for being forward thinking here.

We never had these problems in wrestling...not as much reliance on the referee..you get your ass whooped and it's pretty cut and dry lol
the wrestling parents were always the best. you can't really debate what everyone in the entire gymnasium can see. i mean, the only thing they used to get angry about is near fall points or the ref not calling a pin when it was clear that the dude was stuck. the kids were great too. usually well disciplined and respectful. not entitled jerks like some of these basketball kids.
