John Oliver is great. Just saw a really good one about the Miss America Pageant and how they fudge their numbers when it comes to how much money they claim to make available in scholarships, a number that they use to justify the whole sick program (and he also pointed out how disgusting the whole Miss America thing really is). I REALLY like his show. And yes, they really do do some good investigative reporting, funny or not.

I binge watched the whole first season a little while back to get caught up. It really is worth going back if you haven't seen them all. They even had the smoking baby on the tobacco segment.
"The rule kept many who lived far from hospitals by roads from using the program. But on Tuesday, seemingly in response to what Stewart called his "damning piece of investigative joke-a-lism," the Department of Veterans Affairs changed the rule and will now use actual driven miles based on Google Maps rather than "as-the-crow-flies" miles. Just fucking brilliant. Here's another example of his brilliance. A three part segment on gun control back when Oliver was on The Daily Show.

Yay! I can only hope the show remains activist.
