How is a Grammy useless to an artist today?

Yes, but Jeff said in the movie that winning an award for art is ridiculous.

As long as they're making albums they're going to be eligible for nominations and possibly win

What the fuck? There was absolutely nothing special about that packaging at all. Have other bands started releasing albums in paper bags recently?

I understand that. All I was doing was pointing out the irony.

    an award for packaging?
I would understand if it was for album artwork but .... packaging?

That acceptance speech was longer than I expected. Still, good for those guys!

I still think it looks like a dalek.

Apart from their music there has never been a band that has put so much skill & effort in to their artwork & packaging. The grammys are a waste of space & that reflects the so called music industry & we are so happy that PJ have never been a part of it cause there definitely wouldn't of been the longevity they have had if they conformed to the mainstream. Music on Lightning Bolt isn't bad either

As much as I don't give a fuck about the Grammys it's cool they got recognized for still caring about the artwork and packaging music is presented in nowadays. Congrats.

It IS for the artwork/design. The award has been around since the very first Grammys. It used to be called Best Album Cover. They expanded it to include the entire packaging in the 70's.

Look at all this teen angst! Arent we all supposed to be 30 and 40 something?? How can you hate the Grammys but think of the rock Hall of Fame as some kind of honor? They're no different.

I'll always applaud good artists getting recognition for their art. Congrats.

    I'm sure they don't care.

Winning a Grammy means nothing in the grand scheme of things. How does one "judge" art? Just what Jeff said.

We know how PJ feels about the Grammys, so why does everyone else place value in them?
