    It is a really beautiful looking and feeling album - the LP and the CD (not sure if this award covers both or one or the other actually). Well deserved.

    I was thinking the same thing :)
    It probably has something to do with the release date,
    and the deadline for Grammy nominations.
    Because the album didn't come out until October of 2013,
    it was probably too late to be considered for an award that year.
    It must not be a "true" calendar year for many of these award shows.

    Did not look like the "best" out of the nominees.

    I dig that the cover is "hand drawn" on the vinyl, but other than that I'm not a fan of the "Illustrator 101" digital illustrations.

    They didn't win for Vitalogy and Yield. And weren't even nominated for No Code. So I'm glad they finally got another one

    It's for artwork not for music.. lol. I don't think that means much. If the first one which they won for playing a song didn't mean much... one for artwork and packaging? lol.

    Awards not important enough to give out during the main event?

    I dunno... it seems like some kind of consolation prize :)

    Oh, the irony of Jeff winning a Grammy for art after what he said in the Pearl Jam Twenty movie about what Eddie said after winning the Grammy for Spin The Black Circle.
