Incubus 2015

Always loved Incubus, and I really enjoyed their new song 'Absolution Calling'. Looks like they have 2 EPs upcoming. First one in March! second over the summer. Really looking forward to them, however, the first EP is listed at $26 for the 4 song vinyl. Kinda steep for four tracks.

Agreed. I heard Absolution Calling on radio 104.5 yesterday and I thought it blew away my first impression of their last album. (That I actually bought the CD of but never listen to it..)

I hope these guys tour this year, or atleast play 1 festival that I can get to!

    That good?

It's good, I really like it. It's different, faster, more poppy than anything on the last album. I did enjoy the last album though, a lot, but I know a lot of people did not. Anyway, I'm excited to hear more.

I had no idea these guys were still playing music, but listened to their first single and was pretty impressed, actually! Cool stuff.

have one of the best guitarists in the world. they are huge pearl jam fans , and pearl
jam loves them too. Lets hope its better than their last album. they need to get back to jamming
  • I must be in the minority because I think the new song is kind of weak. It's very "Crow Left Of The Murder" sounding. It's going to take a while to grow on me..if it does at all.

And some of the tracks off the last album were brilliant. A very underrated album.

I'm gonna have to check it out. I love ACLotM! I'll be honest, haven't really listened to them much since Crow. Light Grenades never grew on me, and I haven't heard any of their last album.
  • Love the new song, best thing they've done in ages.

Light Grenades was adult contemporary to me, their last one was even moreso. I haven't heard the new track yet, but if it does have a "Crow" sound to it, I'll dig it. I used to spin that cd in my discman daily!

I was fortunate enough to see them before they blew up. Science had just been released and they were supporting 311 on their Transistor tour. (Sugar Ray was the main supporting act, but that's a story for another day - fuck Mark McGrath is all I have to say). Anyway, I was completely blown away by Incubus. So much so, that I had a friend of mine who worked in a music store order the Science CD for me and I went around telling everyone about them like a little fanboy.

I was not excited about Sugar Ray at all. At one point the entire arena cheered and applauded when McGrath threatened to stop playing and leave the stage. He stage dove and someone grabbed his shoe. And he kept bitching about getting his shoe back or they were gonna leave. That guy is such a douche nozzle. He took up a good chunk of 311's stage time just being a pompous asshole. At one time he left the stage claiming he had to go take a shit. And he was gone for a good 10 minutes so I have no doubt that's what he probably did. They were on stage for nearly 2 hours and played about 45 minutes worth of music.

I always say out of the 3 bands I saw that night, Incubus was by far the best. 311's performance wasn't really their fault. They only had an hour of stage time (midnight curfew on WVU campus) so they rushed to get as many songs in as possible.
