no wonder they don't play The Gorge anymore, sad because we got legal weed now, and it would be the coolest thing ever, but whatever I guess people prefer going to corporate buildings with dudes wearing polos and khakis who just want to hear them play Even Flow and Jeremy, I just like something different every now and then

When they played the Gorge people were complaining they didn't play Seattle.... lol.

Obviously it's in road trip territory for me so I'd really dig shows to be at the gorge. The 05 show was epic and the 06 shows were pretty good. Now that PJ has upped it's game to 3 hour+ shows all the time, they could easily surpass the 06 shows.

I live about 2000 miles away, so it does me no good. But good for you west coasters if they do it.

I've never been to the Gorge. I would travel to the Gorge if Pearl Jam played 2 shows there.

If they play a show I can afford to travel to I'll be there. What does corporate buildings, polos, and khakis have to do with anything?
Oh please let it rain today.

Hell yes, they should play the Gorge!

Ha, I bitched about them not playing Seattle when we were dissed for many, many years. The Gorge is not Seattle. Saying the Gorge shows are Seattle shows is almost like saying Vancouver or Portland shows are Seattle shows.

But I didn't complain about the Gorge shows. I am a huge Gorge fan, and used to go to 4 - 5 shows a year there. I love it there, and would love for PJ to play a weekend of shows this summer at the Gorge. It is the greatest concert venue in the known universe for sights and sounds. As Dave Matthews said a decade ago at a show I attended there - it's heaven's amphitheater.

This is still the type of thing people say around here? Still? Remember, for somebody in the crowd, it's their first Pearl Jam concert. They should want Even Flow just as much as I should want Dirty Frank.

Anyway, I voted "I really don't give a shit" because I probably wouldn't make it out to the show. But I say "probably" and not "definitely" because it seems like a super-cool place to see a show. So maybe I would go. I chose Denver over all the other places last year because of legalized weed. So I'd go with The Gorge over all other (non-east coast) places this year for the same reason.

The polo and khakis comment is what happens when you smoke a bowl and just say the first random thing that comes to mind, and go Seahawks!

I think the gorge counts as seattle. Yes it's a long drive, but their's no large population centre out there. George, WA has about 5 people, Ellensburg and Moses Lake a few hundred thousand.

Gorge Shows are definitely geared at the Seattle market. Most bands don't play the gorge and then go play seattle because it's the same crowd (for the most part). Yes it's a trek, but I count it as Seattle. The only difference to me is a 5 hour drive from the ferry instead of 2 and change :)

edit: Remember when they started the White River Amphitheatre so it would be closer to Seattle. No one liked that place :) People would rather spend horus driving to the Gorge than go to White River (which it turned out wasn't that much of a shorter drive due to traffic congestion).

It's a good thing fuel is cheaper in the US as it makes up for the plummeting Canadian dollar :(

Hopefully we don't go back the $1.60 for a USD. The Binaural tour was painfully expensive :)

Ugh. I'm super bummed about the CAD. Aside from the travel, which I'm probably just not going to do now until it improves, a lot of vinyl is suddenly more than 20% more expensive! :((

The Gorge is overrated. I've done it about five times in my "youth" but never again. Too far to drive. No amenities. Horrible traffic getting in and out and then trying to stay awake for the drive home late at night sucks. Forget camping there because you won't get any sleep. Yeah, the scenery is nice but not worth all the effort.

Hmmm ... the location is stunning.
But, oh my god, the heat. The hot temperature really did a number on me in '06 ...

The heat problem is a good point. I can't handle that shit. So they shouldn't play the Gorge in the summer ever again. They should play it late September or early October.

I would be all over this if I could afford to go to both shows.
It's a dream to see PJ at The Gorge and I hope it happens for me some day but right now I can't swing it so I'd be in hell if they played a 2 night stand and I weren't there. :((
