I heard back from 10c. Here's what they had to say:

Please break the damaged vinyl into bits, send an image, and we will send replacements.
    10c

    Seriously????

Can you blame them? I'd want the same thing. This is a small business not getting played by scammers. I know joberschlake isn't a scammer but there have been a few people who always try to take advantage of the system. This is the best measure the 10c can take to make sure people aren't asking for new ones and keeping old ones.

Asking a customer to return the defective product only costs the company more in shipping.

I like that they're doing this. Just be thankful they're replacing them and not just offering refunds.

Completely agree with said comment. I support this idea.

Assuming only one disc was faulty, people have to be real jabrones to sell ONE disc (the faulty one), get negative feedback and then keep the good disc. Half the flippers probably set up a bogus eBay account anyway.

It's a shame they're apparently not allowing wall clocks made out of them.

It hurts but yeah...I guess it's the best solution.

I wonder if they're comparing pictures. Too bad they're not allowing wall clocks ala Lightning Bolt...or maybe they just didn't mention it?

I opened my #4. All the discs are present, but I didn't play it. It may be a long time until I do. Heck, my #3 is still sealed...

I completely get it and understand, however at the same time I feel like it shows a lack of trust in fans. I was hoping to get as custom notebook made out of my damaged vinyl. I'm going to small them,. It just hurts so much to destroy vinyl :)

I had one record of my Sevens set defective. The Ten Club had me send the whole thing back. I could have just exchanged the one defective record. They did not ask me to break up the vinyl. I'm assuming they want a picture of the label, with that destroyed vinyl.

I don't see the problem with them asking you to break it. I've seen artists ask their customers to tear up artwork and send them a picture prior to them replacing it. Most places will have you return the item.

To the people out there that seem to have 'good' copies. Do you get any popping sounds during the tracks, or does it play clean?

I just noticed in Lost Dogs that someone had some defects like yourself..i guess. And they got "two lots" of replacements and are now trading those for other vinyl.

So I guess this is what 10C is trying to cut down on by making people break their defective vinyl.

Mine plays through fine. No noticeable pops, but again its a LOUD concert, not like Beethoven's 9th Symphony....so I may have missed a few.

And I know the same thing happened with the LB replacements.

My copy has a couple pops here and there, but otherwise it plays great. I guess I look at it as these are plastic items made on antiquated equipment manufactured in large quantities at facilities that are operating at capacity. They all aren't going to be perfect. Personally, I don't mind an occasional pop or crackle here and there. I view it as part of the charm of spinning slabs of wax.

I wonder when the Ten Club will try and find another manufacture for their vinyl. It's almost not worth for them to keep pressing these unsatisfactory pressings.

But they do keep changing manufacturers.

Vault 4- GZ Media in Czech Republic
    LB- URP
Vault 3- European plant. Maybe The Netherlands.

Someone said earlier this week they used the same plant for Vaults 3 and 4.
