Any fellow ten clubbers going to the Super Bowl?

Comatose PilateComatose Pilate Maine Posts: 359
I'll be heading alone to Phoenix from Maine to cheer on the Pats!! Figured I'd see if any fellow ten clubbers will be out there, maybe grab a beer or something. Also any tips on the area would be great. Thanks!

Thanks! I have booked a hotel in the Mesa area and I'm wondering if there is public transportation to and from the stadium to downtown Phoenix or Mesa

  • Comatose Pilate, the public transportation out here kind of sucks due to everything being so spread out. They don't build very high in Phoenix so it is all built outwards. There are buses and a light rail but it would take a looong time to bus from Mesa to the stadium at westgate. The lightrail doesn't travel out to Westgate but I believe you can take it from Mesa to downtown Phoenix. Mesa is quite a drive to Westgate by car without using public transportation.

they have most listed on stub hub for purchase. I think around 50-100$. If you go through stub hub, prime sport or other brokers, they usually include a pass to their party. Not sure how great they would be though.

I work in downtown Scottsdale where the vast majority of the parties are and am staying the fuck away next week. Luckily my work allows us to work from home so I have that option. In addition to the Super Bowl the waste management PGA event is happening next week. Tiger is playing it again for the first time in a dozen years so they are expecting record attendance there as well. That event happens in North Scottsdale so traffic in Scottsdale should be a train wreck. To make matters worse they are expanding the highway that through Scottsdale and goes to the stadium in Glendale. All the lanes are open but they narrowed them to create room to work. Not that big of a deal until you see the elderly winter birds driving along with a look like they are scared to death in the tiny lanes.

I will say though old town Scottsdale should be a blast. Just about everyone of the nightclubs has been remodeling all summer and are unveiling the new look next week. I was just walking by nightclub row on a walk at lunch and was amazed at them.

Piece of advice someone touched on above. Public transportation sucks. They have the light rail that will take you from the mesa area to downtown Phoenix. That is still a long ways away from the stadium or Scottsdale where the night life will mostly be. My car broke down a couple of years ago and I took the bus to work a few times. It was a 3 hour trip to go 14 miles. You need a car out here to survive.

As Sollozzo said to Don Corleone, "if you consider a million dollars in cash merely finance." (Sollozzo raises his glass)

My point is that between ticket cost, travel expenses, lodging, and other costs it is way to expensive for me to go to the Super bowl. Be safe and have fun to all going.

    Bravo for quoting Sollozzo!
It did cost a shitload but as a 49ers fan I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go with 2 of my best friends. Had the 49ers not gimped out with 4 downs at the end of the game it may have gone down as one of the most fun/exciting days of my life. It was still top 50 and a whole hell of a lot of fun.

Historically prices will drop starting next Monday, right now the brokers are preying on people who panic and overpay. Be patient. If you can stomach it, wait til game day and keep checking the sites and jump on a deal if you see it.

im guessing the least you will pay is 1300-1400 a ticket including fees for 400 level seats. That's my plan, at worst there are a bunch of places around the stadium to watch the game without dropping the 3 grand.

When I went they were 2k plus for each seat. I actually did not pay for my seat, a buddy got them through a hook up with a Senator.

  • LOWEST price on the secondary market right now is about $2200/each. I highly doubt they get below 2K. Don't really want to pay that. Hoping to score some face values from a friend.

Would love the chance to take my son, we are both huge Pats fans, but cant afford the crazy ticket prices. Plus flights are over 1K from the Northeast right now due to superbowl. So we will probably through our annual superbowl party instead. Go Pats!

I went last year. Got really lucky since the weather was so shitty the prices dropped and I got 6 upper sideline seats together for $1600 each. Was a lot of money but a week before that they would have easily been double. Can't afford to do it again this year unfortunately and no blizzard in AZ to drive down the price. GO HAWKS!!!
