I would think for football fans outside of the NE or SEA fan bases, their rooting interest will come down to who they hate the least!

How are the Seahawks the least likable? I have never heard or sensed that. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
With Seattle winning last year and the fact I really hate the Pats, I guess I don't care who wins. As a long suffering fan of all Houston teams, I'm used to not being too excited around championship time --except for those two years the Rockets won it all.0

I like Russell Wilson a lot, I think he's a very well spoken, down to earth individual, unlike so many of his teammates who can't seem to STFU.
I respect Richard Sherman's athleticism, but his act wore thin with me a long time ago. I don't like athletes who talk $hit as much as he does. Plain & simple. (& his teammates seem to follow suit)
Who is 'the beast'?

Probably not well liked in Wisconsin after these last 3 seasons.0 -
Like Sherman, I respect Lynch's athleticism, but it ends there. If you want to cheer for him that's your prerogative, I happen to think he's a typical 'me-first' punk who puts his own agenda ahead of the team's. That's my opinion on him. (And yes, he is a beast..... I honestly didn't know which player that term referenced)
Bear in mind, I have all the respect in the world for the Seahawks as an opponent...... I think they stand a better chance to win than the Patriots. With that being said, there are a lot of players on that team who I really can't stand to hear talk, I hope the Pats find a way to shut them up.
If they don't however, I'll do my damnedest to simply tip my cap & move along.
May the best team win!0 -
I continue to be confused about why they call it "foot" ball. [-X0

Yes, not all teams are blessed with team first guys like LeGarette Blount, Brandon LaFell, and Darrell Revis....
Just poking you. You know you would love Sherman or Lynch if they were on the Pats. We're all hypocrites. I LOATHED LeBron with every ounce of my being for exactly four years. But now, he changed his clothes and miraculously I love him again!0 -

A fair response. It's also fair to ask how many times Blount, LaFell or Revis have made headlines for running their mouths or off field issues while playing for the Patriots. Can you recall any?
Not that the Patriots are a bunch of angels mind you. I know they are not, I completely understand why other people dislike them (with that being said, they are not the evil organization they are made out to be either) .
I was surprised to see the incredulous responses to the suggestion that SEA was one of the least liked teams. I thought they were reviled by many. I guess that says more about me than anyone else.
I know you're just having fun, as am I. I truly wish you & the Hawks luck. If NE loses, I hope it's at least a close, well played game.
Cheers.0 -
I don't think people hate the Seahawks. Maybe in SF or divisional rivals, but not across the country. Seattle hasn't been good long enough to instill deep seated hatred. Unless you're weird and have something against Jim Zorn for some reason (am I dating myself?). It's hard to hate Carroll and Russell Wilson. Gotta respect the 'Beast'. And I actually like Sherman, mostly because I hate Harbaugh and his lack of support during the draft is well known. As a Buckeye, you must dislike Harbaugh. It's required.
I don't have a ton of respect for the beast.
Here's a player that was almost out of the league with substance and behavioral issues, gets a second chance, resurrects himself, and now acts like an idiot again.
He plays well, but his character is questionable to say the least."My brain's a good brain!"0 -
Sherman and lynch are players that a lot of people hate. Sherman for his arrogance and lynch for his dumb ass "interviews" and celebratory td poses.
I think the pats are like the Yankees: people are jealous of their success.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -
I'm actually a Browns fan, so my season ends in September every year. That's really convenient so I don't have any stressful Sundays. Thank God for the Buckeyes.
But that's why I was surprised that you said people hate the Seahawks. To me, they are just on a good run lately.Post edited by mrussel1 on0 -

Well Belichick gives some irritating interviews and Lynch just does the handshake now. Perhaps he is reformed? But like I said earlier, if any of them were on your team (including Beli'cheat'), then you love them. It's the natural hypocrisy of sports.
**Disclaimer** I hate Johnny Football more today than when the Browns drafted him. And I'll continue to hate him until he's good. Then I'll just hate him less.Post edited by mrussel1 on0 -
