Mine arrived today in B'ham, AL. Haven't yet had a chance to spin it. The packaging was superb.

Packaged great, arrived in excellent condition. Just listened to side A so far and there is a very annoying skip during Grievance right at the best part of the song (I wanna RUN into the seappvvwpwpwbwxxv) which definitely pisses me off.

Aaaand I flip it over to find a major gash rendering Light Years pretty much unlistenable with pops in the songs before and after. Might have to ask for a replacement at this point.

    Holy fuck October22!
10C, why are your records all fucked up now? Do you even care who makes your records? I never hear about a lot of defective records with any other bands, but here your last 2 albums have skips and pops. This isn't normal.

Just read this in the email:

"The physical package may or may not have actually been tendered to UPS for shipment."

Maybe they sent it, maybe they didn't! Who knows?!?! To be fair to the 10c though, this whole "internet" thing is a fairly new concept and there really aren't any other companies out there yet who have explored, let alone perfected, the idea of taking orders online and shipping the products out from a central location. In fact, once the 10c works out all the kinks, as I'm assuming they're diligently working on, they could really have something here!

Do not bring logic to this dilemma the people don't want to hear it.

I wish there was pressing information in the runouts. Does anyone know where these were pressed? I love the whole 'Bootleg' thing, but the runouts on these actually look like Bootlegs..lol.. No pressing information, No Lacquer cutting credits... Nothing except a generic number stamp

  • All three have visible scratches on the first side. So far it doesn't affect the play, but still disappointing.

Just cracked the box open. VERY impressed by how this was packaged/shipped. Haven't had a chance to listen yet but externally speaking things seem to be in perfect condition.

Mine were all scuffed pretty bad in spots, I attribute that to the hard sleeves. I had maybe 2 audible pops, but again this isn't Classical music so I may have missed a few due the loudness of the music. Overall, very happy.

They might want to consider a press with a great reputation instead of seeking out a bargain and getting bad quality pressings. Just a thought. It seems obvious, but.... guess not.
If they finally do choose a good pressing plant, fans will need to be patient. There are long waiting lists for them, at a time when there are not enough presses to keep up with demand. Maybe they resorted to the Czech Republic because they thought the fan club members would start freaking out if it took any longer than it already has, lol.

I read somewhere recently that due to the rise in vinyl demand, the a lot of the few good pressing plants are running out of capacity and have very long waiting times, there is a very famous one in Germany that has a production pipeline of one year in advance. Maybe that is a reason why they chose the Czech Republic?

Your probably thinking of Optimal Media GmbH in Germany. They are known for nice pressings. I think one of the best in the U.S. is Quality Record Pressings, but they are known more for their audiophile quality pressings.

Here's an idea 10Club, how about you don't hire pressing companies called Jizzy Media??

The name alone should have been a red flag...
