There is only one song that I consistantly skip over as I listen to a 256 song play list, and its "Mankind". Otherwise I love it all.

    In joyous part
I remember when, yeah. I swore I knew everything, oh yeah.

  • I crunched some numbers & came out to 78+%. (I would have originally guessed around 80 - 85, so not far off from my original thought)

Riot Act was a slow mover for me. For the first several years I liked all of 2 or 3 songs off of it, but I've really come around to love most of it. Now there are about 3/4 songs I DON'T like off it.

I burnt myself out on Binaural. . . there are some great songs, no doubt, but there are several that I don't really want to hear again.

I'm hoping I come around on Avocado also. . . . I've given it some serious tries, but I'm still not there yet (came in around 7/13 likes on that one)

    99%. Live about 85-90%.

If they dropped given to fly, corduroy, and small town each night it would be close to 100%.

Funny, I'm the other way around. . . . The majority of studio songs I dislike are much more enjoyable to me when heard live.

It's so odd looking through this thread and seeing the songs people don't like. I don't think, until now, I've ever heard someone say that they don't like given to fly or corduroy. Earlier, someone said they didn't like YLB.

Agreed, YLB is my favorite closing song, (X1000 when it's followed up by the Star Spangled Banner; I've been fortunate enough to see this twice now)

GTF is a concert staple that never gets old for me.

    To each his own!

Could do without: W.M.A., obviously Bugs, Aye Davanita, Stupid Mop, Pry To... Spin the Black Circle (how'd THAT song win a Grammy?) Vitalogy should have been 10 tracks. Mankind, Habit, Lukin, Red Dot, Push Me Pull Me, Pilate, Do The Evolution, Gods' Dice, Breakerfall, Evacuation, Soon Forget (how soon I forgot about that one), Bushleaguer, Hitchhiker sucks, Severed Hand (although I like it live), Marker in the Sand, Big Wave, Army Reserve, Inside Job (love the song but the production is terrible- drums sound like they're being played under water), surprisingly like most of Backspacer and Lightning Bolt besides maybe Gonna See My Friend, Let the Records Play, Sleeping By Myself (waste of space on LB). Most of the rest is my favorite music of all time from my favorite band of all time!!!

Now this is more like it.
OP I know your thread is asking about what % of songs we like but it is also interesting when people state which songs they don't like.

Saying statements like "I like 80-85% of their songs but depending on my mood it can change to
%100. But if the wind is blowing east and the skies are partly cloudy I really only like %90 of their songs but of course if you count live concerts I only like %70 and of course %95 percent of their studio songs are always liked". ~X(

    20-80% easily
gets more interesting if you get names.
The worst of times..they don't phase me,
even if I look and act really crazy.

How did STBC win a Grammy? Its a great rock n roll song! Another shocker.

I forgot about inside job. I've never understood how that song is so loved on these boards. I've tried to like it. Come to think of it, I only like 5 songs on ST.

STBC isn't that great in my opinion and should have lost to AiC, I think "Grind" was nominated. Besides, PJ have had other nominations that were much more worthy of winning.

There are only a few songs I don't particularly care for:
    Yellow Ledbetter
    Last Kiss
    Marker In The Sand
    Force of Nature
    The End
    Sirens

Really? You don't like YLB? Or The End?
Ledbetter is downright laughable at this point. All Ed does is mumble and randomly throw in wayside, front side, letter, porch, box or bag for 5 minutes.
The End is just not my thing. It has too much of an "Elton John ballad" feeling to it for me. I don't mind Elton John, I don't mind ballads, and I don't mind when PJ does ballads, but this one just doesn't click for me. I actually didn't mind it when they played it live in Charlottesville, but I pretty much skip it any time I listen to Backspacer.
Taste is subjective, of course, and this is all IMO.

I'm sure I'm above 80%. It's funny to see the songs some people list in the "don't" column - Whipping is up there as one of my favourites, MFC is fine, and I'd really like to see Love Reign O'er Me live. However, I've never been a fan of Faithfull, could happily never hear Jeremy again, World Wide Suicide bugs me, and of The Fixer, the less said, the better.

And if we're talking about covers, don't get me started on the cover of I'm The Answer from the Manchester show this summer, which Sirius is playing irritatingly frequently. A nauseatingly repetitive combination of self-pity and narcissism.

    Interesting. All of it.
Oh please let it rain today.
Those that can be trusted can change their mind.

Agree on all points. Most especially regarding "Grind"

Re: songs I don't like......... Betterman. There, I said it. I enjoy the whole crowd interaction thing when seeing it live, but I've never enjoyed the studio version. It's probably my least favorite popular PJ tune. I would rather hear The Fixer.

STBC is great. Betterman is highly overrated although is much better live. Love Reign Oer Me is an amazing cover especially live. I'm not sure why anyone would want to hear Jeremy again.

the end is one of those songs that make me tear up. Especially the first few times I've heard it
