Well I am a really good godmother lol so I got to see Sunrise Avenue - lol
and apparently a good daughter too so we saw The Gregorians
Peter Gabriel - was an amazing perfectly arranged show - all on point
Pearl Jam - Berlin
Pearl Jam - Leeds
Anathema - wow
not very much but I saw some bands in pups and to be honest Pearl Jam was all I am hoping and waiting for...and I can´t wait to see them again!
Pretty much had a classic rock-type of concert season...
1. Elton John: Amazing show, played the first side of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in order (not to mention most of GYBR). Show was almost as long as most PJ shows.
2. Black Sabbath: Went into this show expecting to get an incoherent Ozzy (a la Osbournes tv show). Was pleasantly surprised that he was very much playing it straight (at least 99% of the show).
3. Sammy Hagar (with Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham): a surprise freebie concert thanks to my brother who had an extra ticket. Played a lot of Hagar-era Van Halen as well as Montrose, solo Sammy and Led Zeppelin. Extreme (More than Words) opened, so now I can say that I've seen everyone ever associated with Van Halen.
4. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers: Not a bad show, just wished he had played more of his 70s/80s output than his 90s stuff. Steve Winwood was great as the opener.
5. Judas Priest: the weakest show of the 6 i've seen this year. With all their classic songs, did they really have to play Turbo Lover? A couple of times they almost ventured into Spinal Tap territory. Steel Panther were good if you liked irony.
6. Fleetwood Mac: 2 words -- Christine McVie. Awesome, awesome show. Songbird alone was worth the price of admission. Again, show was Pearl Jam-long -- almost 3 hours.

I only got to see one band this year, and that was when I was in Seattle. I saw Soundgarden, who played for free in the parking lot at the Seahawks pre-game show. Pharrell Williams was singing afterwards, but my hearing aids had enough feedback for one day, and I had to get the water taxi back to Alki.
