I don't know what albums came out when, but Opeth's Pale Communion is my favorite from this year. Railroad Earth's Last Of The Outlaws is also great.

me too. I hated that album. Blunderbuss had a couple tracks I liked. Lazaretto is terrible IMO.

Nice. I always look forward to your lists man, you have a great habit of including ones that I should not have missed (this year it's The Hold Steady and Stephen Malkmus, can't believe I missed these!)

    1. Sturgill Simpson -- MMSICM. Similar to QOTSA's '...LC' album last year, this one jumped into my rotation and for months never left. It's always exciting year-to-year to see which album will become a new, good friend and for 2014 this was the one.
    2. Top Petty -- Hypnotic Eye. Multiple decades into their HoF careers, TP and they fellas prove once again they can still bring it.
    3. John Luther Adams -- Become Ocean. A captivating 42 minute symphonic meditation about being subsumed by the ocean.
    4. The War on Drugs -- Lost in the Dream
    5. Ryan Adams -- S/T
    6. Run The Jewels -- RTJ2
    7. Beck -- Morning Phase
    8. D'Angelo -- Black Messiah
    9. De La Soul -- Smell the DA.I.S.Y.
    10. Alt-J -- This Is Yours

The lists above are good reminders I gotta check out St. Vincent and Strand of Oaks' albums!
