Saw them on the Joshua Tree tour in 1987... back when they were amazing. Can't say I will be disappointed if I miss out on tickets this time around.

I've seen U2 a hand full of times. They are a band I try not to miss when they come around. I've never been disappointed. one of the best shows you can see IMO. Shows from first leg of 360 and third very different and both excellent. Early show focused on new record and later show on achtung baby.

Seen the "all you can't leave behind" tour in st.louis after 9/11, band had a three song memorial to the events of the day. Very tastefully done. Not a dry eye on the floor around our area. Bono may come with his share of bullshit, but he and the boys can steal your soul for a few hours if you give them a chance. ... I've just talked myself into trying to get Chicago tickets now.
  • I wonder after all the presales how many tickets will still be available? I might sit tight and hope for more shows to be added. I got to see them play Your Blue Room for the first time at Solders Field which was awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwWdszm76o4

I'm SO happy I got my ticket. And I was lucky too, I was late to the sale and got the message there were no tickets available but then all of a sudden there was a ticket, and a good one not too expensive. Of course I snatched it. Then I had to wait for 2 hrs for my eticket to be delivered via email, and that was a bit nervous, but now I have it. Haven't seen them in some 20 yrs so I'm really looking forward to this!

Wait period down to 11 minutes.

Update: Wait period back to 14 minutes. I think I'm done trying for public onsale Ticketmaster/Livenation for popular events. Haven't been successful in a while when online right at the sale time. It is a scam or there aren't enough tickets left.

I was first in line in person. The people didn't know what to do.. All they could pull were the $300 tix. Once another emotes showed how to change the pricing, I was left to sec310 for both Toronto shows.

This process took 15 minutes. Surprised I got anything at all.

Motherfucker! I had 2 GA tix and I was right there at the end paying and something went wrong. Lost them. Now I have nothing. :( Oh well. Maybe something will pop up between now and May. :-<

How does their fan club sale work? Is it a coded sale through TM? Is it hard to score tickets in the fanclub pre-sale?

Fan Club subscribers get a unique code, yes, which they can use for the presales. For this tour, the code is only valid for 2 tickets though (due to the lower capacity in arenas, compared to the stadium tour last time). During the presales you had to fill in the code at the ticket vendor website (mostly TM, but there were a few other ticket vendors).
Presales were staggered, with the first tier being those who had been a fan club member for a longer time and the second tier all those who became a member after Songs Of Innocence dropped early September. For the first tier it was mostly OK to score (good) tickets in the fanclub pre-sale (apart from the fact that in the US those presales were at the same time as some Foo Fighters ticket sales, so TM's website was still overloaded). For the second tier it was more hit and miss, with some popular locations running out of good tickets (GA) quickly.

Staggered sales based on seniority? What a novel concept!

I wouldn't join a paid fan club that did that.

On the flip side though you would certainly stay in one.

I wish Pearl Jam would do a Ticketmaster style fan club sale versus the lottery. No games and rankings.

I dont even understand where "behind the stage" is going to be. Fortunately I scored 2 single GAs for Chicago I about 4.5 hours after it went on sale. No chance I was going to pay for any of the $300 tickets.

knowing the price of tickets and knowing what u were willing to spend why did you even ask for those tickets? surely u didn't put in "find me best available"
i scored extra pairs for both shows i want to see. all upper level and never paid more than $225/pair fees included
i don't need to be up close for this tour...that was determined as soon as i saw the ticket prices!

yeah i'm not understanding the stage set up at all. i got 218 for msg and it says behind the stage. looks like sweet seats to me. i don't understand how the red zone is so far away from the stage.

The stage clearly runs across the whole floor, but there's no indication of where the band (mainly Larry) will be. Everyone else will move around I'm sure, but it would help if they indicated where the drumkit will be setup.

Maybe everything will be on an elaborate conveyor belt that moves around during the show?
