ISO: 24x36 Presentation Case - Found

Hello All...

Yes I know I can get these from that Jerry's site, but hoping someone who has sold off some of their collection, would like to sell me or trade me a case cause these baby's are quite expensive to ship to Canada from Jerry's site and I can't seem to find any that big locally.

PM me if you have one to sell or trade.

Cheers.

i've been searching high and low myself...please, let me know if you find one ?
Any new realizations... would have to wait...
Til he had more time,... more time...
Time to dream,... to himself... he waves goodbye,
To himself... I'll see you on the other side...

    Will for sure, you too...

I might just suck it up and buy one online. I think it was $80 USD to ship to Canada though!

    True D'at!

I am trying to look at it as an investment to protect my collection. The pain in having a print get ruined for not being stored properly would be worse than the pain in buying one.

Fingers crossed on a used one...

right after I paid $200 whatever dollars for mine,
I was telling a friend who is a photographer about my purchase.

haha oh man! That's killing me!

Ideally I would like to trade for this, so I don't have to spend money before Xmas... But I have traded for some larger prints, have another larger print I want to buy/trade for, need to make sure they're protected.

Someone will hate me for this next comment, but maybe get some bumps haha... I had a Wrigley Mural sitting on my basement bar for the longest time cause I didn't have proper storage for it. The last straw was when my youngest boy was grabbing it to "see the beerman".

yeah and I was looking at the wrong stuff. The books are cheaper than the cases, but the 24x36 book has sold out.

Maybe someone here will have one they want to trade or sell, but if not, I might have to bite the bullet at some point.

Duty / brokerage on top of the Canadian shipping is also a bit of a killer, or it was 5 years ago when I got mine. Checked local art shops and could find nothing. All that said the Jerrys case has been great.
    Good luck

I have the 24x36 Picturesque Presentation Cases, and I love it. Mine is about full, I will either order more sheets or jus get a new one pretty soon. Told the wife today and she said, "why don't you just sell some to make room"? ..... She just doesn't understand.. :))

Haha I hear that! I told mine I was gonna need to buy another larger case and I think she just zoned out.

    Good enough for me! :)

If I can find space, I'm going flat file. i feel the 24x36 is just to bulky and seems like i'm gonna ruin a print by flipping pages over constantly.

What do you mean? Like they might bend when you flip the pages in the case?

I always found the prices for that Jerry artarama site way over my budget too. So I researched and found something called Itoya Art Profolio. They sell them on amazon too. Much cheaper and you can store the stuff flat for the time being. I bought a very simple portfolio book for the regular sized posters, but I think they have different styles. Maybe until you have saved up to get that Jerry thing :)

I'd love a flat file one day too. My Dad is a photographer and has a wooden one from an old print shop. It looks amazing and it so practical for other stuff too.

i keep 18x24 up to 24x36 prints in there . The smaller prints tend to slide around a bit in there. Its just a big page to turn and I feel that something will eventually go wrong. I've been keeping my more valuable prints in my foamboard sandwich outside of the portfolio until I come up with a better solution. I'd hate to mess up a 1K print.

Some people will sandwich their posters between 2 layers of foamcore to protect them.
I have a nice flat file to store my posters...but some of the larger or odd sized posters don't fit in the flat file, so I put them in one of these:

It's a foamcore display board...like you would use for a high school science fair project.
You can pick one of these up for under $20 at Staples or Office Depot.
I store mine under the bed!!

You can get cardboard version of that display board at AC Moore for $3.99. Works really well for storing my extra posters.

It's a hit or a miss with duty / brokerage form Jerry. I've ordered many times from them. I would receive orders shipped by UPS and not get charged at the door, which is pretty awesome here in Nova Scotia. But there were times where I would get hit with brokerage fees, which sucks. The same product & all. Jerry's promo codes are where it's at.

Looks like I have found a case, from a fellow Canadian too so shipping shouldn't be too bad. Thanks!
