Should PJ consider a "Beat the Bots" box office only pre-sale strategy like the Foos?

After hearing about the Beat The Bots pre sale, I appreciate the 10C lottery so much more.0

Absolutely not. I have a real life and going back to the 80s is not progress. How about pricing tickets to market so folks can make (hopefully) rational economic decisions? The best way to stop scalpers is to remove the likelihood of profit. I know that means I might go to 1 show instead of 732, but I'll live.
Funny thing is, there wouldn't be the touring bitching and moaning if the entitled ones were forced to give PJ their proper economic value to attend a show. (oh, there'd still be bitching about how they sold out and such, but bitching is bitching. The band might as well remove their headaches of ticketing strategy to appease the entitled AND make their proper value from their art.)
I'm sure I am the most popular guy around here...Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0 -
Speaking of BOTS, does anyone have a nike one so I can cop those infrared 6's? This is no bullshit request. Don't make me make a "OFFI-cal" request thread.0

I showed up in StPaul at 10am prepared to wait outside in 30 degree weather for a while, but to my surprise, we got to wait inside. The line snaked around the concourse and there were plenty of staff to watch and inform us. Also very very organized at the ticket window. I waited for 2 hr, 20 min and am not sure my seated tickets are any better than I would have gotten on the pre-sale or the regular sale. FF fans are not quite as fun to stand in line with as PJ fans, either. Another drawback was that the number of seats allowed had been changed overnight from 4 to 2 for seated. I thought I might have read it wrong at first, but there were plenty of others who saw it too.0

Since the band never plays Florida anymore, I have to buy tickets in other states.
The last thing is want to do is fly somewhere just to get a ticket.

I want to know how the Foos can sell tickets with NO FEES and PJ hasn't been able to do that yet. My $75 tickets really cost only $75!

Fees are included. It's like when you buy VIP or Platinum tix off TM and there's no separate charges. They are still there, but they've been negotiated on the back end and included in the ticket price.FrankieG said:

Also, if these were at non-TM venues (are there any left?), it would be a direct negotiation with the venue selling on site.
But, rest assured the ticket vendor is getting their cut. Just because you don't see it, don't believe it doesn't exist.Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0 -
The difference is that I paid $75 per ticket and the total price someone will pay from that same box office when the public sale happens is near $90. If my ticket is $15 less than the public sale, I say that's a win for us for sure.EdsonNascimento said:

tbh, I would probably choose not to go. Who wants to wait in line for hours? Not me. I gave up show merch. I do christmas shopping online. I dont go to amusement parks. I have better things to do than wait in lines.0

Many venues do not charge service fees when purchasing at the venue box office on day of initial on sale.0

As a selfish person who's typically pretty good at playing the Ticketmaster game, I would disagree with you.
Having a mathematical mind, however, the logic-driven part of me agrees with you. Tickets on average are priced far too low, based on the perceived value to the average consumer, as proven by the fact that the scalping industry exists. If market value were requested by artists, scalpers wouldn't serve to profit, and the industry wouldn't exist (at least in the way it does now). Of course, if I didn't have a job, I think my opinion would be different. Seems it's impractical/impossible to appease everyone.
