i ordered two and got two confirmation emails. Oh- ordered two, one for me and the other for a fellow member here, one ordered got cancelled (status: backordered) and eventually got cancelled with email to boot. The other order says warehouse

When items are sold out, they really need to just get rid of the item, or take away the ability to "add" it to you cart.

Same here. I never get confirmation emails, never had a problem.

I never get them either....don't ever buy a gift card, because guess what...you will not get the redemption code to redeem the cash. I bought one for $100, 2 weeks ago and it I'm yet to get the code despite my card being charged, multiple emails and phone calls that don't get answered.

Ordered Vault CD and a few clearance items with the vinyl....order confirmation received at 1:01pm ET, status says Released. Not sure what that means.

Trading and flipping for cash are two completely different things. Ill tell ya right now, I am a vinyl dude, but if someone offers me binaural, RA, or S/T for this Mike album, im letting it go. It is all about where and what someone puts value on. I will love spinning this Mike record, but I would much rather spin a full length PJ that I dont have.

Im the same way. I think it means..we will get the other items, but are screwed with the McCready.
They will eventually cancel that part of our order.

If we were good, it would say (Warehouse)

I totally believe they limit it to secure a high secondary market price. That way when they sell anything, it sells out immediately.

I can understand when it comes to posters. For example the posters where you have that awful Seattle 2013 poster and lots more awful ones on clearance, and then ones like Moline, Portland/Pitt 2013, PJ20, etc all sell out in minutes. It's a matter of good art and a show's popularity mostly.

But vinyl? Like they couldn't easily sell 1500 of these things without even trying.

Please realize there were only 400 copies and almost 500 people online, about 99.9% I'd say who were trying to order. A bunch of orders are going to go thru at the same time when everyone is trying to gobble them up simultaneously. Thus more orders "confirmed" than product available, and thus the need for cancelations. It was out of stock at 1:03pm.

Uh... here's the thing about the secondary market: the band and organization don't generate a profit from its strength. I don't think that's a logical argument in favour of limited runs.

Glad to see some true fans got a few.
Still think a lot of these went to flippers, but hey! capitalism doesn't discriminate.
I just think it is BS that in this day and age you can't come up with a program to stop duplicate orders.
I would've been fine if I hadn't gotten one, but to get an email saying that it was received then backordered then cancelled. not cool.
