It's really the buyers who will set the price. If people don't buy at outrageous prices then the prices will drop. I suspect that there are alot of sellers in over their heads on these PONOs ($400. is a big investment for many people) and they will be anxious to recoup their money.

I want one, but it does not have to say Pearl Jam on it. That's what stickers are for.

I don't know about that...You had to cough up the $400 back in March and wait almost eight months for the delivery...That's only $50 a month that has hit your budget for the last eight months, if that's got your finances over your head today, it would of been over your head eight months ago I believe...My $.02 anyway...Hope you find one OP...

I said it on the last Pono dedicated thread, but who doesn't like a free bump?
I think these will initially sell for a high amount then drop. But... With only 500 once they're in the hands of collectors we may only see one or two for sale per year.
I am curious. Does anyone remember the price fluctuation of the PJ iPod and is it safe to compare both items ?
The ipod was limited to 200 and not available for sale so that was a more difficult item to obtain. With everyone having a shot at this one for at least 24-48 hours before it sold out I would say that this one was more accessible. I doubt the 200 ipods hit the market with many sony execs keeping theirs and only competition winners throwing them up for sale.
Initially the ipod sold high, very high, the core of collectors at the time all wanted it and were willing to go high. I recall prices initially around $800-900 on that one and based on it never costing a bean In the first place that was a nice chunk of change. Move on two years to 2011 - it was on ebay very sporadically but still at a much reduced pricing level, one sold the day before the Belfast show in 2010 in fact for 'only' $300. The market has not really recvered much since, I think the last was a UK seller that went for around $400 ish.

These things always spike at first,
although a different product and a different market we only have to look at sevens and the coke vinyl as glaring examples
