The Marvel/Fox deal has been officially announced. X-Men are coming home! Never thought it would ever happen.

I hope Deadpool 2 and this crazy New Mutants horror film still get finished and released. After that I'm completely OK with a complete X-Men reboot. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart both say they are done. Time to start over. Not a big fan of the Jennifer Lawrence dominated films. First Class is overrated, DOFP was very good, but Apocalypse suuuucked. Lawrence got worse in each film. Time to start fresh and incorporate mutants into the existing MCU.

As a Marvel fan, this is great news. As a fan of movies in general, this is very scary.

Yeah it’s hard to say for sure yet but I’m thinking it’s going to be the best reviewed superhero movie ever. Can’t wait.

I want Black Panther to be great but I'm avoiding all reviews and early reactions until after I see it. The Last Jedi experience showed that early reactions from critics cannot be trusted.

Seeing Black Panther tomorrow afternoon. I get to see a new Marvel movie and trigger the Alt-Right at the same time? Win win.

Holy fuck! Is that the Fri-Sun or the 4 day weekend total?
  • JimmyVJimmyV Posts: 19,166
Black Panther was awesome. Fantastic ensemble cast. Was worried it wouldn't measure up to the reviews but it did. Bozeman is great but at different times both the ladies and the villains steal the show. Highly recommended!

They are saying it could bring in $225 through the holiday weekend. Insane.

Looks like we have a new premiere property for the MCU. See you later RDJ.

  • RiotZactRiotZact Posts: 6,245
This might make more money domestically than Infinity War. That’s insane. With good to great reviews BP was already going to have great legs regardless of opening weekend, the sky is now the limit.
  • PoncierPoncier Posts: 16,911

Saw it today, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Don't see how Infinty War doesn't out gross it though. Unless they screw that movie up it should be massive.

    This weekend we rock Portland

  • Saw it this evening.  Good movie. Not sure where it ranks vs the others but I liked it.

Finally saw it tonight. Great flick. Even if you take out the racial stuff it’s a great marvel movie but with it I think it’s up there with the best of the MCU films. I remember reading somewhere that the villain was supposed to be like Malcolm X and BP was supposed to be like MLK, I think that is a very good comparison and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they had that in mind when writing the movie.

    FYI...

There are two post credit scenes after Black Panther. I'll be honest, I'm not sure you would really miss anything though if you don't stick around for them.
