What was your loudest crowd PJ moment?

eddieceddiec Posts: 3,839
Not just the overall show but the loudest crowd reaction you can remember. When they played Release in the encore in Amsterdam it was pretty crazy but for me it was when Neil Young came out during Rockin' in the Free World in Toronto. The reaction was absolutely deafening.

Oh, and there was something going on last year in Philly. I think night two. At one point I was screaming so loud that my diapraghm started to vibrate and I felt like I was molding into one piece with the sound in the venue. I don't remember what song it was, but my diaphragm hurt the next day. I am not talking about the contraception device :P

Release at Wrigley. Loudest crowd singalong I have ever heard.

Detroit this year was the loudest for me for an overall show. Loudest crowd reaction at a single moment was probably when Chris Cornell walked out on stage PJ20 night 1 :)

PJ20 was deafening, Lolla 07 was full to the brim, and the Vic had the best crowd singing

Release at Wrigley really was something else. I've also seen video from outside of Wrigley during that, and the crowd is so loud is singing it - it's really cool. :)

Spectrum 03 was louder than even MSG that year IMO. The crowd and the acoustics were both insane

It may be where u are in the concert but Wrigley Release and most of BK2 was really loud, that joint was jumpin'!!!

I wonder if they bring "loud meters" with them?

On one of the bootlegs at the end of Do the Evolution Vedder talks about how loud the crowd got and the "stage was moving". MSG? Anybody?

Agree with everyone saying Spectrum '03 was the loudest show but the loudest single moment was definitley Better Man at MSG 2 in 2010 as far as shows I've been to

Well we're just talking about our own loudest crowd moments. Not the loudest crowd moments in PJ history. I'm sure there were a lot of shows where the crowd was way louder than at Wrigley, but i wasn't at any of them! ;)

22 PJ show and probably 50 other concerts in my life and nothing has come close to 4/28/03 for loudest crowd. if I had to pick one moment from that show one thing I vividly remember was after the 1st set and before the 1st encore started people just banging on their chairs and the signs between the 1st and 2nd level. it was insane how loud it was.

Yep. In Hiding this show to pin point.

was not at wrigley or PJ20 so i can't compare. :((
but my moment was Vancouver 2005, (the night after the epic gorge show)
loudest show crowd was just constantly really loud but loudest point for me was when Ed came back after the break and said that the crowd not only looked great, but were fucking loud too. later he tried to get the crowed to whistle the do do do do do dodos at the end of Black, but when he asked the crowed to whistle they did that high pitched fingers in mouth whistle thing was making my ears bleed.
it was a great show…but they all are

At Hartford last year the crowd sort of refused to stop cheering even after PJ expected them to. I don't remember during which break it was but if you listen to the bootleg I'm sure you'll find it. I was in GA and I couldn't hear Ed talking into his mic over the crowd yelling. He just sort of stood there in awe of it. Stands out in my mind for sure.

Personally it would be State Of Love And trust at Shepherd's Bush in 2009. I can't remember another time when the singing was so intense.

Here's a video I took of it (the video is jumpy and the quality isn't that good but it captures the singing and the vibe of that show)
