    My Picks:
    1) Moline, IL - Ian Williams
    2) Milwaukee, WI - Ben Frost
    3) Memphis, TN - Brad Klausen
    4) Austin, TX 1 - Mark 5
    5)Tulsa, OK - Ames Bros.
    6) Lincoln, NE - Justin Erickson
7)St Paul, MN - Ames Bros.
    8) Denver, CO - NYCHOS
    9) St. Louis, MO - Mark Dean Veca
    10) Detroit, MI - Munk One
    11) Austin, TX 2 - Brandon Heart
    12) Cincinnati. OH - Don Pendelton

Not sure if we will have Bridge School prints...but with what has been released...these are my picks. What are yours?

can you move Cincinnati to number 13?
pretty sad that one day I will end up buying this just because I was at the show.
To me Moline, Milwaukee, and Memphis stand out. I like Lincoln, but I am not very big on skulls...usually avoid them.

Dead last - Milwaukee. And I was at that show too. Just couldn't imagine staring at this thing on a wall in my house. Would most likely mentally scar my 10 year old daughter.

    Chicago G

I love Milwaukee, very simple and like someone else said..it reminds me of '98 style posters.

yeah, the Moline one is nice!!
    I picked one up yesterday.
really fits with the city and the season.
the others were just random stuff with the exception of Memphis and Detroit.
Like the Memphis. thought Detroit was horrible.

Im sorry. Detroit is the worst by 10 miles here. Love Munk One's work 99% of the time, but those are hideous. Like dizzy double eye Oakland level

My rankings and commentary, which mean absolutely nothing:

    Moline (A+)
    Milwaukee (good colors...I like)
ACL - I (pretty relevant to location...that's good)
Lincoln (a great poster...penalized for depicting a lighthouse in Nebraska)
St. Paul (sure...Vikings in Minnesota...I get it)
Tulsa (is that another owl???...oh well, I like it)
Memphis (I don't hate it, but don't love it...I do particularly like that Stone is made of stone)
St. Louis (good colors, but there is something off with this one)
Denver (just what we needed - another spider-skull...and the wrong venue name...and, my head damn near exploded when I first saw the back of this one...just bad)
Cincinnati (Don is damn fine person from what I can tell...that has to count for something)
ACL - II (from a distance, this looks like a skull with a birthday hat and streamers)
Detroit (the faces...damn the faces...the faces result in this being an epic fail...c'mon Munk One, you are (way) better than this...FAIL!)

All in all, this was not a good tour for posters. Period.

My dogs do better work in the yard than this clown does on paper. Just horrible. Sadly, I will buy this one if the fucker ever puts the AP up on his site because I went to the show.)

    I'd go
    1. Milwaukee
    2. Moline
    3. Memphis
    4. St. Paul
    5. Lincoln
    6. ACL 2
    7. ACL 1
    8. Tulsa
    9. Cincinnati
    10. Detroit
    11. St Louis
    12. Denver

Overall, I think Europe had a much stronger run of posters this year, but I like the US posters better than the Australia/NZ ones

    1. Lincoln wish they'd used a different font or creative way of incorporating the band's name...coulda, woulda been a classic
    2. Memphis bias as it was the shown I attended....plus has a lot intricate stuff going on in it, commands attention/second look
    3. Milwaukee love the simplicity of the pop art
    4. Moline classic show w/ badass poster to match
    5. ACL 2 looks like the label from a good beer
    6. Denver like the colors, like the graphics, but yet a bit meh
    7. Cincy Pendleton is proving to be a one trick pony yet I still find some of his work compelling

The rest are, well, straight up fugly. With the exception of the Detroit poster, which'll probably sell well, expect the rest to be landing in future Mystery Boxes X_X
  • 1: Lincoln (I think it's a great poster and nice to see something without all of the bright colors)
    2: Tulsa (Amazing art)
3: Memphis (Great detail. Look close..)
4: St. Paul (Especially the variant...)
5: Milwaukee (As someone noted in another thread..looks 'old school' like from the '98 tour)
    6: Austin 1 (Simple and city/venue appropriate)
    7: Denver (just okay..)
    8: Moline (It's just a tractor really..)
    9: Austin 2 (It's just okay...)
10: Detroit (Great artist, not his best work)
11: St Louis (It's cool but gives me the creeps)
12: Cincinnati (Just not a fan of the artist.)
Raleigh, NC., 8/31/98, Charlotte, NC., 8/4/00, Greensboro, NC., 8/6/00, Mountain View, CA., 10/31/00, Raleigh, NC., 4/15/03, Charlotte, NC., 4/16/03, Mountain View, CA., 10/25/03, Asheville, NC., 10/6/04, Philadelphia, PA., 10/3/05, Washington D.C, 5/30/06, Virginia Beach, VA., 6/17/07, Philadelphia, PA., 10/28/09, Charlottesville, VA., 10/29/13, Charlotte, NC., 10/30/13, Memphis, TN., 10/14/14, Greenville, SC., 4/16/16, Hampton, VA., 4/19/16, Raleigh, NC., 4/20/16, Columbia, SC., 4/21/16, Boston, MA., 8/5/16, Boston 9/2/18 & 9/4/18., Nashville, TN., 4/2/20., Nashville, TN., 9/16/22.

No real stand outs this time around. My vote goes like this:

1-3 are the ones I'd consider buying to hang:
    Moline (good colours, vibe etc)
Cincinatti (..actually don't mind it - maybe my favorite Pendelton piece)
    ACL 1
3-5 ..don't mind these, but still wouldn't buy:
    Memphis
    Milwaukee
6-13 not a lot that really grabs me with any of these:
    Lincoln
    ACL 2
    St. Louis
    St. Paul
    Denver
    Tulsa
    Detroit x2

You could probably read these in reverse and that would be someone else's favorites list.. To each their own I suppose..

I do agree it was a rather pedestrian run.

Decent variety though. I also only think that although some leave something to be desired, only the Detroits are terrible and would never get hung

    I'd say,
    1-Moline
    2-Lincoln
    3-St. Paul

    ...then all the rest...
    :)
I love this because those were the 3 shows I was at! I'm so happy that I got posters that will actually get hung up in the basement!

As a former design director in the newspaper and magazine world, these kinds of discussions are my favorites. Always good to get a reminder that taste in art is subjective. For instance, I think the Moline poster is the best this fall by far, and possibly the best since the Munk One Pittsburgh '13 tour opener. Yet there are comments here that are just meh about it. I think Tulsa is not so hot because of the typography, yet others love it. Great stuff. Anyway, this is where I stand. Ultimately, I'll own all 13 of them (double for Detroit).

    1. Moline
    2. St. Paul
    3. ACL 1
    4. Lincoln
    5. Detroit
    6. Cincinnati
    7. Milwaukee
    8. ACL 2
    9. Denver
    10. Memphis
    11. St. Louis
    12. Tulsa
