Ed treats Dr. Tolar to a tour of his facility, the Pearl Jam stage. The doctor gets to meet the guys. Really nice show. It just goes to show how dominant they are when this is an average show on the tour yet still memorble.

My 5th PJ show and first since the same venue in 2006 with Petty.
To start, I sat right behind Jeff's cousin and family stage right and had a nice chat. They were holding an enormous "Thank You Jeff!" sign that he eventually saw and waved at. Kind of fun to talk to them. I guess his cousin hadn't seen Jeff at all since they saw "Star Wars" together. LOL. They wanted to let everyone around them know about the sign in case it blocked their view (which it did, but it was cool).
The band is a lot more practiced and polished than I remember them being although my show experience is an admittedly low sample size. Mike hams it up a lot with the audience and everyone in the band was a lot more animated than I expected them to be. Not a bad thing necessarily, just a different vibe from the "garage band banging songs out" that was 90's to early 00's PJ. The setlist was pretty hit oriented but that was to be expected given the long absence from MN. Footsteps was a nice surprise I thought. Why Go and DTE were also highlights for me. Really ripping versions of those.
Finally during Alive Ed come over to the speaker near my side, I gave him a big thumbs up and he pointed and returned the gesture. Cool moment to cap the evening.Post edited by darthvedder81 onSo this life is sacrifice...

Tomorrow should be fun and I aint talking about that 5 hour road trip. Safe travels all. Still looking for a single for tomorrow, I'll be in town around 2:30. message me man.0

Gotta say Moline was good(ok great and was an epic experience) but St Paul kicked it's ass. This show out rocked, out classed in energy and volume, and just in general blew the ceiling off. Can't believe these shows just keep getting better. Congrats St Paul you deserve every moment of awesome that was this show!Post edited by northerndragon onAnything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.0 -
Flew in from CT. Went into GA at 6:30 p.m. and floor was more empty than I anticipated. I was on Mike's side about 7-10 people back. Those people who waited over a day in line are die hards. I walked right in and was plenty close. Mike had a conversation with the dude next to me about some dog bar in Seattle and everyone around me (including me) got a pick from him. My wife sat in my reserved seats (#218178) with her friend and those seats were equally great (sec 117 row 2 seats 11/12). Was a great show for my wife's friend (first timer) as there were a lot of hits including cover hits. Imagine was a highlight. Eddie's voice sounded great. I only got one new song (Thin air) but many great songs (Release, I got shit, Footsteps, Black and Nothingman). Eddie did make a few comments about the crowd such as and I'm paraphrasing "we are almost done so you need to turn it up and I'm not sure anyone is out there" but this was my 25th show and I saw no difference in the rocking and energy. GA seemed to be having a blast. On a side note both lines appeared a waste of time, I stood in the merchandise line for 5 hours and could of got shirt and poster later (sticker did sell out) and like I said earlier GA line was not necessary unless your main desire was the rail. I could go on how great Mike and Jeff were (Jeff was having a grand time with the hanging balls) but I typed long enough. I'm sure the rest of the band was equally great but I was locked into my side of the stage. Overall, thumbs up!Springfield 4/6/94, Boston 4/6/94, Hartford 10/2/96, New York 9/11/98, Hartford 9/13/98, Mansfield 8/30/00, Boston 9/28/04, Reading 10/1/04, Quebec City 9/20/05, Boston 5/24/06, Hartford 5/13/06, New York 6/25/08, Hartford 6/27/08 Philadelphia 10/31/09, Hartford 10/15/10,

Good show. I'm not going to lie, standing in the last row of the upper deck with a bunch of people sitting down and looking at all the empty space in GA kind of sucked (back 1/4 was very sparse). Someone gave a homeless man a ticket and he hung out by my seat all night, which actually was a lot of fun. I hope he enjoyed the hot dog and beer. He even knew a lot of the songs! It's always fun to come back to The Cities for a show. Minnesota people are just awesome.0

29th show...hometown show. First time in GA. Very solid, fun show. Highlights were Release, I Got Id, LBC with great intro. Footsteps was awesome. Thank you PJ for coming to the great state of Minnesota!41 PJ shows from 1995 to 2023...plus 6 EV solo shows. St. Paul and Austin shows for 2023.0

It's not "sparse" in GA, it's due to fire code regulations to prevent human stampedes and keep people safe and also allow for quick exit in emergency. A certain number of GA people are allowed based on square footage.jeffer96 said:Good show. Naturally, most people squeeze closer to stage, so the back will always look empty.0 -
Amazing show! Couldnt believe they played Release! Dont they usually lead off the show with that? Pleasant surprise! crowd was amazing and the band sounded great. I feel bad for people who stood in line for hours to get merch when it was pretty easy to get it once inside. Cant wait for the next time they come back around!Miwaukee Summerfest 7-9-95

The show was not great for what they played but for the energy from the band and the crowd. Everyone says that about their own shows, I know, but truly, the energy at the X last night was electric. From the band, I think there may be some small but definite affinity for the state (Jeff has family from here, Ed is friends with many Minnesota Twins and an admitted fan etc). From the crowd, it was like the entire building - not just the dozen nerds in the "Play Minnesota" thread - had been waiting 8 years for a show. Lots of singalongs, many people standing throughout, "stars" during Unthought Known and Imagine from every section.
We were lucky enough to have a fantastic view in GA about 10 people back and we're surrounded by friends and polite strangers the whole time.

Have fun! Just flew into Chicago. Hoping to get to Denver flying stand-by today. If I can't find a flight I might need a ride to Milwaukee, lol.rssesq said:just in from my 89th show and a little drunk. Eddie sounded great. The day off really makes a difference. 3 plus hours long! This was my 4th concert and first time with ten club tickets. The seats were perfect for us. First row floor seated. The show was different from Moline, more planned out and controlled. Moline felt more spontaneous. My favorite thing was Jumpin Jack Flash into LBC, it was subtle in he beginning and then blended beautifully in the middle and end.
The venue was fantastic! Every person from ushers to security was friendly and knowledgable. The most poignant moment of this for me was the security person standing in front of me singing along while still watching out for us.0 -
Brought 3 people to show who had never seen PJ before. All 3 said it was hands down the best concert they've ever been to. Were ridiculously impressed with the amount of energy in the building. All 3 are health care workers, so they were doubly impressed by the UofM doctor coming out, the EB wristbands, and the pre-party fundraising for Hope in Grace. After spending months amping them up for this show, I could not be more proud of how our boys delivered on every level.0

Pearl Jam is like sex. Always good. Wait Pearl Jam is not like sex. It''s always mind-blowing.
Release 2nd song was amaziing,,,,and Indifference.
I should be travelling to Milwaukee tomorrow....sigh.0 -
Just goes to show how much differ each persons perspective can be... I had bout same lower bowl seats as I did in Moline w/ my 16 yr old son the other nite as this show... Bout halfway thru this show my daughter says to me "dad, people are staring at u, in a smiling good way though and she says that I'm the only one dancing an into it,,. She adds,.. U need to b down on the floor... (I was in Lincoln, btw)"... I told her "u missed missed out in moline..90% there were into it over the 10% here"...ps.. This was the 1st of the 3 shows I hit where it seemed like most people at this show were from the city/state/area...the final encore w/the hits got the entire place moving though... And I must add at least everyone stood the entire show...and I had a blast and LOVED the setlist... Finally got FOOTSTEPS again (last time was Colorado '95)... Life wasted, save you and LBC were highlites for me.....loved to b at the final 2 shows but it's back to work tomorrow to start saving again for their next tour...ps.. Got real emotional taking in the last song knowing it'll b awile b4 I see em again... Safe travels all....curlynortherndragon said:Gotta say Moline was good(ok great and had and epic experience) but St Paul kicked it's ass. Great, great show.www.cluthelee.com0 -
I met a decent amount of people that this was their first show. The place was loud, the crowd was definitely into it. To me it just seemed like some people didn't know about the call-response times and such (when to clap or throw your arms in the air with the lights, for example). Just a thought, certainly not a criticism.0
-
Second show for me, first in the pit. I saw them in Spokane last year and would say this experience was very similar. Solid setlist, lots of energy, but overall the crowd seems old and zombified. I was bouncing around, enjoying the show, but it seemed the rest of GA who are all 20+ years older than me didn't want to even smile. Loved the slow beginning and then breaking it all out with GO. Other highlights were Why go, I Got Shit, and looking at the crowd during Imagine0
