You don't have to explain trust me. Name calling is what this board is for half the time. There are a lot of people in here that feel and think they know it all. You know what you got when asking for whatever and that is all you need. Don't let these rude people bring you down there are a lot of fun loving people here too. Stay strong
very true- cookies, did you get your poster? If not, hopefully someone that attended the shows will contact you soon

this is closer to the set list, right songs wrong order, I think I'm still off with one or two.

Just got back from tonights show. I was at both nights, and night one was far better. Tonights crowd sucked pretty bad, not sure how it compares to Milwaukee though.
Stupid drunk bitch behind me yelling "Chelios" through half the show till she finally staggered away while yelling and being yelled at by the crowd was horrible.
Sean Penn sang backing vocals with E.J. on Hard Sun also.
Couldn't agree with you more. Tonight's crowd was the worst I've seen. There were fights. Non-stop yelling, drunken morons. Eddie had to tell us to shut up at least 5 times over the course of the night. Night one was a real treat....there was ZERO respect for him tonight. I almost felt bad for him. What a crappy way to end the tour. What happened to the class, guys.
Although, Sean singing backup at the end was priceless.
ETA: Almost forgot about the chick who jumped on stage and tried to touch Ed. WTF? She sucked.
ok, a couple Ed irritated moments due to fan comments, one from the night before that he needed to get off his chest, and one from tonight about a fan telling him to get on with it...but this may have been a friend of Ed's messing with him.
Ed was great sonically. Loved his stories about his first concert 30 yrs ago to the summer, that he saw his first concert in that venue, it was Bruce, and he was in the noise bleed seats. Also his visions about Blackbird, seeing the civil rights movement visions in his head, dogs and fire hoses, etc...but at the end of the song the vision of Barrack Obama running for President took over.
Had a great time hanging out at the pre-party that Wishlist (Laura - FoxyMopp and Eric - EvilClosetMonkey) through. Fun times with Laura, Eric, Maggie, Summer, Kyle, Jeremy, Adam, Nicholas, Krista & her hubby, Lydia, John, Daniel, and others that I forgot.
whew...and to end it, THANKS ED!

One thing I noticed from the 6 shows I attended, the better the audience, the happier the Ed, the happier the Ed, the more Mr Vedder would give. I knew that we wouldn't get anything after Hard Sun just from the audience. a shame to end that way.

Just heard from my sister who got upgraded to front row (!!!!!!!) was hoping to follow along with a relay. Anyone lined up?
I think I may have been next to your sister???
Does she have a piercing right under her lip? I just ask because I was upgraded and standing next to a girl who was from Canada, and she was saying how her brother was a HUGE fan and was going to freak out.
If so, she was really nice, and a good person to stand next to.. (you don't get that often!)
Wow guess name calling is allowed on the board when its directed at me...whatever.
I was on here for every west coast show and it was really frustrating not knowing what was played. People would come on after the show and give us the run down....but could barely remember what Ed SAID between songs.
I even put up a post asking why nobody was relaying and was told that security was up everyones ass so nobody could relay.
You sure you're not thinking about the EAST COAST Tour or maybe another board (IE BRY or RM). If there was relays I never saw the threads.
No, I was not thinking of the East Coast Tour.. That just ended..??? I am talking about the West Coast Tour in April.. hence, April Fool's Tour.. Are you sure you are not thinking of the 1998 Tour?? Maybe you were confused by the time zone difference.. I saw the setlist posted song-by-song for the first five shows with all his comments posted the next day.. I attended the last five shows.. That shows how much I was in to it.. How many EV solo shows have you been to??
Yeah, there was a certain lack of respect for Ed during this show too, although not quite as bad as in Milwaukee. I'm in agreement with the folks that said Thursday was the better of the 2 shows.
I agree that "Brain Damage" was cut short because of the crowd. People were yelling things like "thanks Eddie" and "Floyd rules" during the song. I talked to someone who thought that he intentionally played only a snippet of "Brain Damage" as an intro to "Masters of War", but it didn't look that way to me. So, a big thanks to those of you who made him decide not to finish it, if that is indeed the case. The part we did hear sounded amazing.
Highlights for me were "Masters of War", "Can't Explain", "I'm One", "Let My Love Open the Door" and of course, "ARC".
Good show, but also the same ol' story in that the show could've and would've been better without some of the weiner holes in the crowd.
Does she have a piercing right under her lip? I just ask because I was upgraded and standing next to a girl who was from Canada, and she was saying how her brother was a HUGE fan and was going to freak out.

ha...yep that sounds like her...blond girl? Haven't heard from her post-show yet. Hope you guys had a great time. Sounds like the crowd wasn't great again tonight. Hope she wasn't the girl who jumped up on stage

Was at both nights. Night 1 was definitely more respectful. Ed seemed to put the screamers in their place from the beginning. But I kinda liked the night 2 setlist better, although they were both great. People were yelling a lot last night, very rowdy. It was a summer Friday night in Chicago, so what do you expect. I don't mind when it's in between songs, or when Ed says something to kind of rile the crowd. But when he's in the middle of a story behind the next song, or when he's in the middle of a song, what's with the incessant need to yell random shit to him? Ya paid good money to watch him perform, so why don't you do that and save your I LOVE YOUs for appropriate times.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.
Can somebody post Ed's between-song comments? I love to hear what he said.
He went off on a rant because he'd gotten a piece of correspondence from someone who attended Chicago 1 telling him to "save all the political stuff for an anti war rally", and he was talking about how we're Americans and we can say whatever we want, whenever we want, and how we should be talking about this stuff because there's so many kids getting wounded and dying over there, and how the guy who told him that had a lot of gall to say that in light of the fact that Thomas Young, who has suffered so much for this country, was in attendance. "Thanks for letting me get all that off my chest," he said at the end.
Then at one point he told the story of the dude from Chicago one who peed all over himself, and who was having a heated discussion with one of the security guards, who gave him a setlist just to get him to go home, and the guy was so stoked he hugged the security guard. Ed was like, "I know he'll take a bullet for me, but he never expected to get piss all over himself for me."
At one point while he was telling a story someone in the crowd yelled, "Get on with it!" and he was like, "Hey, fuck you, asshole!" Later he apologized, saying he didn't realize it was one of his friends in the audience that was messing with him.
My favorite part was right before Blackbird, when he was saying, "Yeah, so I'm not going to endorse anyone for president this year, it's all run by big business anyway..." and two stagehands slowly walked behind him with a huge "Obama '08" banner while he kept talking. The crowd cracked up.
Then he talked about growing up in Evanston, and having a ton of foster brothers of all different backgrounds and races, and the civil rights movement leading up to today.
But yeah, the audience was worse tonight. Too many drunks.

It isn't like Ed woke up yesterday and decided to start speaking out about "all the political stuff." Frankly, if you don't care about the politics, and/or you can't agree to disagree, why are you attending an Eddie Vedder show at this point? Putting a letter of complaint in the hand of a man who has just stood on stage and cried for a friend who has been a casualty of war, words fail me.

You're very welcome! I'm so glad that it went to someone who appreciated it as much as you, made the night even better for me, so thank you for that!
I don't care what people say about the screamers ruining it, it was still one of the greatest concert experiences of my life.

Sean just said this was his first show this tour and he was looking forward to it. send me pic please thanks

The part where Eddie said that he was sorry for getting mad at that guy then apologized 'cause it was his friend and he was just messing with him? Well, that is kind of how I think of most of the people who yell out. They just love him as much as everyone else and are so excited they happen to shout out.
I know there has been alot of debate around here about this but I was surrounded by them before DC II and all of them were realy nice "frat" boys. I knew they were the yellers 'cause they admitted to it before the show and all recognized each other. They probably think of Eddie as their friend too and I think this cause they a couple had red eyes when they left. One of the guys was teasing me that he was gong to pee in his cup and I said ok just along as he did not show me his pee-pee...and we laughed. So maybe those guys pee on themselves and in their cups cause they love Eddie so much that they don't want to miss him, Because of all the people that complain about them going to the bathroom and disturbing them or maybe they have bladder control problems-who knows?
The whole point is that all these things we complain about sometimes don't really matter and just take up our time that we could be happy and grateful. And the whole point of Eddie performing is not to cause division amoung us. (the pee'ers, yellers, people who seem mute (maybe they were just in awe)). We need to be more tolerant and loving of each other-(there has been alot of arguing on here lately and we are suposed to be the Jamily!).
So I am not putting any person down here. Just wish we could all get along and enjoy each other more. Thanks for letting me say this and if you disagree, that is ok. I don't want to argue.
