I wonder how fans will react if Chuck Sperry did some Pearl Jam posters with just a lovely lady on the print. Like the following .. https://www.google.ca/search?q=chuck+sperry&biw=1280&bih=890&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=sBc9VKCULsmQyAS5r4GICQ&sqi=2&ved=0CDYQsAQ . Imagine if he did 2 or 3 prints per tour. Will fan's be upset if all his Pearl Jam posters from now are just a lovely woman & text?

I saw these prints at NYCC this weekend. Didn't even know it was his work!

I've yet to attend a Comic Con. :( Thank god few of my favorite artists that are @ these shows are able to save a few prints & sell them online for schmucks like me that couldn't make it.

Memphis...this is great! No skulls and instead incorporating the music into a poster, fantastic!

Haha, looks like I jumped the gun, there is a skull on the carpet but at least it's subtle and covered up!

Wow, Denver just epitomizes this thread. How brutal is that? I know when I listen to PJ's messages of positivity, that the first thing that comes to mind is spider/skull! Wtf, I'm pretty sure I had to fight the thing that's in that poster in an old Zelda game. Terrible.

Hopefully the St Paul poster is unicorns jumping over double rainbows in fields of flowers with butterflies.

Here's an early rough sketch of the soon to be PJ St.Paul '14 print. :-B

Do yourself a favor and be you online. Anonymity plus audience often equals asshole.

I love Klausen... and i live bsnd/song themed prints... but I really thought Memphis was the perfect show for a city/region themed print... ESPECIALLY with all of the music history and culture in the area

  • Honestly, I thought the raven and skull Baltimore poster fit our city perfectly. We love football and people here get murdered regularly.

Hopefully this Saturday night. If all goes well will have a few super duper variant edition copies that glows in the dark. The hidden image will be a huge Riot Act skull in the middle that glows.

Skulls are Rock and Roll and look sick on any poster. Skulls appear on the cover of Riot Act as well as the crowned skull graphic seen on stickers and patches. If you see these artists do posters for other bands like Dave Matthews or the Pixies you get a completely different vibe so I feel the artists know what the band digs and uses that for inspiration. You will also notice a lot of lightning bolts even though the album is 5 years old or however many. I think it’s cool they add that in. Keep the skulls coming.

I'd prefer not to have another blatent, heavy-handed skull poster. But we should never limit the artist and they're vision.  And to their defense, They most likely do not know the extensive portfolio of previous prints from the past 20+ years of PJ/EV posters as us poster hounds do. Using skull imagery as an accessory is more to my liking(and probably to  those who bother to read this thead)  Lincoln 2014 is a gem  representing Getaway and Camden '08 is well done, too.  Each poster is a swing of that bat.  Some hit a homer, others strike out.  And there's a lot in between.

  • Funny...I was going to say that it should be monkeys/apes instead of skulls.

And while we're at it...why is it that it seems that 90%+ of all concert t-shirts are black...? (And please don't say it's because it's all the colors put together....)

I don't so much care about skulls or not. I just wish they would give more artists a chance. They keep regurgitating the same artists over and over, and that inevitably leads to similar and sometimes tired designs. But yeah, whatever they do, I'll surely buy them regardless :)

Because the TSURT white shirts are so very lightweight that you can see a bra through it and read a newspaper through the double ply. Now, that may work for some, but it's not how I prefer to dress. If I am paying $35+ for a concert shirt, I would like it to be thicker than that. Doesn't have to be black, just not basically translucent.
