To be fair to him, that's a pretty damn good impression.

Very good... Although the Michael Jackson sounded more like Stevie Wonder. Thanks for posting that :)

    Funny!
Ed should now sing The Muffin Man so we can do a comparison.

I'm not a Maroon 5 fan in any way, but he does this impression way better than most ppl who overdo the Ed voice and end up sounding more like, well, you know... like they have a "Stapp infection."

Pretty good! I remember him lobbying to play drums for PJ a couple of years ago:

"If Pearl Jam needs a temp drummer while Matt Cameron tours with Soundgarden, I've been practicing to your records since I was 11. I'm READY."

Ya I liked Adam Levine's, it was like a modern day Eddie. Then Fallon jumped in with the cliche Stapp version :-q

True story, whenever we take the cats for trips in the car, and maroon 5 comes on the radio, roxy flips out. She can't stand Adams voice. She starts meowing. It's comical. See, I told you, we raise good kids...... ;)
  • The guy is musically talented. He can play all kinds of instruments. It's too bad he wastes it writing the same pop songs over and over. Not my cup of tea.

I actually thought their first record had some good throwback/retro style, not something I'd listen to, but not something I'd hate on. Everything since then has been pop poo poo.

my company had his band play at a convention a few years ago.....
I left after the first song and went across the street to a bar. terrible stuff

surprised at how good his EV impression was
obviously the guy is talented.....just a shame he wastes it on turning out sh*t.

It is strange that someone who is supposedly talented and seemingly has good taste in music (being a huge pearl jam fan) would elect to churn out such crappy music. Maybe he is just lacking in the creativity arena - that stuff is just the best he can produce despite being generally musically talented. Or maybe he just cares about the paycheck so isn't trying very hard?

Would've been a better impression if at some point he went "HEEEEEEEEEEEE! HEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"There's a $10,000 bill in it for you."
"Oh yeah? Which president's on it?"
"Uh, all of them. They're having a party. Jimmy Carter's passed out on the couch."

Saw an episode of the Voice last year. Blake Shelton acted like he didn't know who E.V. was and Levine looked like he wanted to kill him.

He's a pretty sick guitarist too. I accidentally watched about 10 seconds of a live solo on YouTube. However, I can't stand the guy or his music and I totally agree with you. It is odd that he's in Moron 5 and not an actual rock band.

For the record, my Ed impression is better than that but he's got me beat on the other ones.

I guess since he's too busy crafting such deep lyrics as "Chew tobacco, chew tobacco, chew tobacco, spit!" he doesn't have time to learn about or listen to good music.

Maroon 5 used to be an Eve 6 type pop punk band called Kara's Flowers. I saw them open for Goldfinger back in the day haha.
They didn't sell any records and when they got dropped they started playing a different type of music with a new name. M5 is all about money, they basically became a different band over night; kinda like Rainbow Butt Monkeys becoming Finger 11, as my fellow Canadians might recall.

  • I think that was a great impression. Too many bad Eddie impressions sound like Scott Stapp's real voice. This was a true Eddie impression. Well done. Nice groove by The Roots too...as always.

I think you nailed it. I believe he is more concerned with being a star and getting that paper. Why else would he do the same tired music and same tired tv show over and over again?

I'd say he definitely cares more about being a celebrity than making good art.
