I don't know about the issue on a national level, but in Texas a fair number of the non whites are first or secind generation immigrants from Central and South America. It has been an issue in the schools that resources have had to be used to teach classes in Spanish as well as English, but my impression is that the school age kids are learning English pretty quickly (and translating for older relatives) and that this is changing. Culturally it has been an issue that whole sections of town have sprung up filled with Spanish speaking only persons who don't care to assimilate, but I think that is also changing with the younger generation. I do admit to occasional annoyance with people who expect that everyone should speak Spanish to them (I can speak some, but I do believe that all Americans should learn to speak English). And don't attack me, my parents both immigrated to the US and never expected to speak anything other than English outside of the home

As far as the racists go, I am sure that this is disturbing news.

London Bridge, it is hard not to see someone as a racist when they post "America is becoming a shithole" in a thread about nonwhites being the majority in schools. This is only a problem if you believe that whites are superior to non- whites.

And finally, I agree that we have a lot of issues right now. Most of them are the result of a government for sale to the highest bidder, who mostly are wealthy white folks by the way, and run for the benefit of large corporations and billionaires. Outsourcing of jobs, paying slave wages to the average worker to maximize corporate profit, corporate welfare and total disregard for civil rights and environmental protections, a safe food supply, etc. The "blame everything on the minorities" game is just a distraction to get votes and stay in power, imho

Okay reread and didn't review prior to sending. "white collared" work world. Meaning at job workforce doesn't reflect city demographic.

Denying the existence of racism is the most prevalent form of racism I see these days. It's even featured on these boards pretty frequently. If you use the term "race card" you need to look in the mirror and think about why you have to try to invalidate race issues.
