Phillycrown, you will not convince me or others about how much worse Hamas is then the leaders of Israel. I totally understand your position on this because correct me if I'm wrong, but you're from Israel? Or Jewish? I know you wrote it somewhere. But anyways, it doesn't take much to see how horrible Israel's actions have been. If you don't see it, then I don't know what else I could say. The images are imprinted in my brain for life. This oppression has to stop and you know it. It's been over 60 years and hasn't worked, well it has for Israel's land grab. But for peace, it hasn't and won't work.

It's not about who's worse though. I don't think Palestinian liberation through Hamas will actually lead to peace in the region, which is what needs to happen.

I hear your frustration, though, bb, and I wouldn't blame you for saying fuck peace, just liberation and autonomy at any cost.

Only problem is, that's exactly what Israel said 65 years ago...

Good question, seriously. Not execute them publicly, that's for sure. Who know what happened in each of these stories?

Shouldn't all executions be carried out in public? I mean, if the point of executing people is to deter others then surely they should all be carried out in public instead of behind closed doors.

    i agree.

what good is a deterrent when less than a dozen people actually witness it?

also, if you are gonna kill people to keep people from doing something, should it not be made illegal to be carried out by people like doctors who swear an oath to do no harm to human beings??

Well it sounded like when you were supporting the rationale for these executions to be public that you were in favour of them occurring. I could be wrong.

I'm a little old fashioned in my Feelings on executions. If the guilty Commited a crime worthy of death penalty, regardless of who the authority is,and it is proven without a doubt(on film,DNA,etc). Then why wait to put the condemned out.Fuck em.Punishment should be harsh.Screw this PC mommy cuddling of hard core convicted pieces of human excrement.

Rape/Rape a child=cut off testicles, hard labor rest of life.Murder someone=loose your own life,Quickly and. Lets save the tax payers some $$.
Violent crimes=old school HARD labor 10-12 hrs a day.
Non violent crimes=work time off sentence by peddling a bike all day generating power.Or labor that benefits the surrounding communities(Filling sand bags in flood prone areas, etc)

Agree in spirit, but in practice "Proven without a doubt" is subject to the same corruption that everything else is.

I think you're a little soft with the 10-12 hrs a day for violent crimes. I'd think more along the lines of 14-16.

And 'old fashioned'? I don't think so. Just because you haven't got caught up in the 'fireside chat' mentality when dealing with degenerates doesn't mean your mind isn't modern.

I do not approve of the death penalty in any case, ever. If the justice system in question improves to the level of complete infallibility, then I might change my mind... actually I wouldn't. But it would be easier to swallow. But as it is, justice system are more or less completely fucked up and corrupt, depending on where you are. Do I think Hamas did a proper investigation, had a fair trial, and is 100% sure that everyone who they killed was guilty or deserved the death penalty? HELL NO. Same goes for those people who were executed in China for that Tienanmen Square bombing. It is way to easy for both of those governments to use the level of power and ability to take advantage of high level corruption for the death penalty to be justifiable. Same goes for western justice.

But DNA testing is conducted by people. People can make mistakes. Police can make mistakes when collecting DNA. People can be framed through DNA.
    DNA isn't good enough.
Everything very clearly caught on film? Yes. I can accept that. Although in the end, even if it's 100% certain, I still can't approve of the death penalty, because I think punishing murder with murder is morally reprehensible.
