Didn't do much for the environment? He's shut down at least 3 coal fired power plants in south Carolina alone. He's done more than enough.

True, but for the environmentalists he failed.

Neil Young Blasts Obama Over Fracking, Suggests Impeachment

Neil Young touched on several topics yesterday during a 75-minute interview with Howard Stern that was highlighted by Young harshly criticizing President Barack Obama for his policies regarding the environment.

"Isn't that what Barack Obama said, change and hope and all of that and he's fracking the Gulf of Mexico. Hello, Barack! Wake up buddy!"

If you are currently unhappy with the direction that our government is / has been heading, you would have to be nuts to support a Clinton or Bush in the next election.

If you're going to make blanket accusations like that, at least haves the balls to back it up with something that resembles facts.

Obama Beats Romney’s Campaign Promise Of 6% Unemployment In Half the Time

The President doesn't create or kill jobs. It's not like he wakes up and says "You know what? I'm gonna lay off like 20,000 people today."

Mitt Romney, however, did exactly that

Have some balls? Really? So much for cleaning this place up.
What's "clean" about throwing shade without any facts to back it up?

    Mitt Romney eats babies.

I don't say this around customers because it's not my place to tell people what to read or what their motivation is to read something but I can't stomach Ayn Rand's self-serving, all-for-oneself and one's self for oneself philosophy, and her xenophobic hatred of Native Americans and poor people. I live in a semi-rural part of California that is one of the last places in this state to move on from the dark ages and though things have improved here, there is still a fair sized contingent of Randites around here. At one point I expunged all of Rand's books from my inventory but have reintroduced some because I don't believe in censorship and it occured to me that others may want to read some of her work for the same reason I have: to know thy enemy.

I suppose all those toxins combined with infant vaccinations will create 100% autism rates by the year 2025.

Good thing se have Obama care. If you succeeded in shutting down all of the power plants that burned coal, all oc those thousands of people will need health insurance to treat all of their autistic children.

...guessing you live near a coal fired power plant, or some other factory polluting our environment...

Vaccinations don't cause autism. The now-debunked theory began with a fabricated piece of research, a 1998 study that was later retracted. Great Britain stripped the lead author of the study of his medical license. An investigation had deemed his research an elaborate fraud.

Those people losing their jobs at the coal plant are suffering from structural unemployment. Unemployment resulting from industrial reorganization, due to technological change, not fluctuations in supply or demand. It happens in nearly every industry as is a sign of a healthy economy. It's a sign of progress and innovation. But some would rather cling to the past, the same old way of doing things. Like back when we used to brush our teeth with radioactive toothpaste. Fortunately we have organizations like the FDA & EPA around to try and prevent us from killing ourselves with these toxins.

The fact that we rely on our employer, and being continually employed for our health care is mind-boggling. Most industrialized countries, and many developing countries, operate some form of publicly funded health care with universal coverage as the goal. The United States is the only wealthy, industrialized nation that does not provide universal health care. This does not makes us exceptional, it makes us exceptionally stupid.

And I don't know why people insist on calling it Obamacare like it's a negative thing. The ACA was a momentous positive shift in our Healthcare system. Every time you give use the term Obamacare, you reinforce credit due to The President and inextricably link him with this great Act for all of history to remember.

You'd really be better off trying to steal some of his thunder by calling it The Romney / Heritage Foundation Care Act.

I know. That was a sarcastic response. One study does not make fact nor should it cost the jobs if thousands. Chromium is a byproduct of coal fired power plants. But the amounts are small and most of the trace amounts are not released into the atmosphere. It's processed through scrubbers and turned into a solid waste. I can't speak about styrene, I simply don't know about it.

Those people losing their jobs are a direct result of Obama and the EPAs legislation that makes it too expensive to burn coal. It has nothing to do with a healthy economy.

Obama care has directly effected me in several negative ways. In 2013, my costs went up, my coverage went down. My prescription drug carrier changed to a company that has already denied my wife 3 treatments prescribed by her doctor for severe endometriosis. Something that would not have happened prior to 2013. My doctor was forced to leave his practice and go to another practice (not a huge problem, but now I have to drive an extra 45 minutes to go to his office). So sorry if I don't support your affordable health care act. Which the name is a joke in itself because anyone who has priced that health care knows it's not affordable at all.

Not only do I live near a coal plant, I work at one.

I don't mean to speculate, because I'm no doctor or nothing. I just play one on the intertubes.

"Several studies have investigated the potential link between exposure to dioxins and endometriosis, but the evidence is equivocal and potential mechanisms are poorly understood...found that 79% of a group of monkeys developed endometriosis ten years after exposure to dioxin. The severity of endometriosis found in the monkeys was directly related to the amount of TCDD."

"2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (2,3,7,8-TCDD) is formed as an unintentional by-product of incomplete combustion. It may be released to the environment during the combustion of fossil fuels..."
