Have you actually listened to any '98 SBD shows with Jack? Because to my knowledge, there is only 1 and it sounds way better than the DC '98 show we got in the vault series to date (which was still great btw).pjsteelerfan said:

I honestly could care less if a Jack release is next. I think he served his purpose for the band, but Matt tops him by a country mile.0

I liked Jack.. he brought a cool vibe to the band. I love the hell out of the Berlin '96 and Melbourne '98 Soundboard boots that circulate. Matt's been on every official bootleg release for the last 16 years (only his first tour isn't readily available in soundboard form), plus two vault's are already from '98.
Given that we have Dave Abbruzze era stuff from the Deluxe Boxsets and shit tonne's of Matt Cameron era stuff. I think the Jack era stuff (much of which consist of many fans two favourite albums) is a big hole in what's been released so far.
Really I think it's the Vitalogy and No Code tours that have zero official releases right? Seems like a good place to start.0 -
Yep. There's some cool soundboards out there from '95 (DC, Salt Lake City, Melbourne, Soldier Field immediately come to mind), but nothing for '96 except Berlin, right?Zod said:I liked Jack.. he brought a cool vibe to the band. Imo there's no comparison of jack and Matt, nor is this thread the place for it, but I'll give it to ya anyway
Jack > Matt to me, simply by way of groove and rhythm. The band's most creative time period and most interesting writing took place when he was there. All opinion of course. It probably helps that I saw them a few times with jack. Anyone who never saw the band back then can only rely on what they've seen, and it's a very different band nowadays.I'm like an opening band for your mom.0 -

Yes I have, and multiple other shows from 95--98, some soundboard, some not. And I'll still take Matt. To each their own.surforia said:

How weird is it that i still think of Matt as a new guy/replacement when hes been in the band 15 years longer than any of their other drummers0

+1. You said almost word for word what I wanted to say. I'm glad MC is here now and the band is still creating music as a unit. But I do miss the Jack years and only wish there was more music from that time when the band was at their creative peak, IMHO.RoleModelsinBlood31 said:Imo there's no comparison of jack and Matt, nor is this thread the place for it, but I'll give it to ya anyway
