Question about picture discs

What's the story with the picture disc versions of ten and vs (not the basketball but the album artwork)? According to pjcollectors, ten is official but vs isn't. Anyone got the skinny on these?

Is that not skinny enough for you? There are bootlegs are the Ten picture disc also

He's saying that there are bootlegs of the Ten picture disc... so buy wisely. There are people here who can guide you on what to look for to avoid a fake.

Can anyone help me out with those details? I actually bought one of these a few years back when I saw it in a record store (I forget exactly where) and have never known anything about it. I totally forgot I even had it until recently when I was perusing through my collection.
I have the Vs picture disc as well that I bought at a record store in Germany in 2000. Any info on that one would be appreciated as well.

I stay away from picture discs. They are generally of relatively poor quality. Long on gimmick, short on sound.

It is my understanding that neither of these PDK's are official.

the obvious question to follow that would be why is one on pjc? that I really cannot answer

Thanks Paul, I was hoping you'd chime in. Yeah, that's what's throwing me off too. There's got to be a way to confirm if something's official or not, right?

I know for a fact that the ITW pd is official.

ITW is absolutely not in question.

There have been some cool cd picture discs, notably the Mexican vs, over the years, but there is nothing to suggest out there that sony issued either of the vinyl PDK of ten or vs. I remain of the opinion both are bootleg.

Agreed. It's just odd that the Ten PDK is listed on pjcollectors. Must be an oversight I suppose.
