I'm so touched that they dedicated that song to Joey. I'm sorry for your loss but as Ed said sometimes the river is wider than it is long.'we were but stones, your light made us stars"

I knew it was the wrong weekend but it was still a great tribute. Ed even mentioned that he's seen joey's picture. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0

all I could think when they struck up long road to open was, "Damn Ed, wrong weekend."
Hopefully we'll get to hear it again next sunday.
The dedication was also touching - at that point I told my wife your story, and she was asking me how Ed can screw up like that... lol...
Again, hopefully we'll get to hear it again next weekend.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

I really hope that you get your request next weekend. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. What a beautiful boy.0 -

Ed was probably told the wrong weekend. Unless they were planning on doing it both weekends to begin with.shep said:

I thought to you and your son when I saw they open with Long Road. Don't worry, i'm sure you'll hear long road next week-end. If Ed talks about Joey, it's that he's aware of your request.

I wonder if he was also told the wrong name for the beautiful dedication they did at Wrigley, lol.FoxyRedLa said:I agree with SVRDhand - prolly not told which weekend. BUMP
It is so wonderful that they notice things like this and care enough to reach out like that. It is SO touching... i really hope they do a repeat or something next weekend so that Joey's dad can be there for it - I know you're already honored that they did that man, which is lovely, but you need to be there! [-O< I'm sure Eddie and the band really feel a lot of deep empathy for you, and they'd want you to be there. And i also hope that someone starts being a bit more detail oriented with the truly meaningful dedications or start writing it down for Eddie, lol.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Eddie seemed to be looking around when he mentioned Joey's name before Come Back, as if he thought you were there. I'm sure someone will get word to the band and they'll play at least Long Road next week. Maybe with some words before/after.
Come Back was the highlight of their set for me. Hope they do that one again as well.0 -

I was surprised too that they did it last night. When he hit the d chord to long road I was like "oh shit, next week dude." There's very little chance they would have drawn that up as the opener to both acl shows with comeback in both too, right? I'm definitely confused, I just can't imagine that Ed screwed it up.I'm like an opening band for your mom.0
