I did not expect to like the new album as much as I do. I know Homme produced Boilermaker, and it basically sounds like QOTSA. But the new songs are fun, I enjoy them. Can't stay the same forever with what the 2 of them do musically so I appreciate and enjoy this effort.
yeah, I've gotten to the snobby point where I hope that a band starts to evolve a little bit by the third album. This just sounds like more of album 2.

I saw them 4 times in a 12 month span (the first was by choice, 2nd & 3rd they were opening for QOTSA & 4th was at a festival).
I'm thinking it might be enough live Royal Blood for one lifetime.
Live these guys have a lot of sound. That drum kit is micd up good.
2nd time seeing them, same thing. Loved them.
Listen to them on my playlists and it's wading thin now.
My friend and I were psyched to see them the first time, if for no other reason than to check out Kerr's equipment.
They were headlining a small club around the release of the 2nd album and they played 12 songs... I think the set was < 70 minutes. That was disappointing from a headliner. They sounded great, no qualms about that, but the short show definitely soured the night.
I enjoyed them opening for QOTSA, but by the time I saw them at Boston Calling in '18, I was just burnt out on them & their sound... not to mention the 2nd album didn't interest me nearly as much as the first.

That seems to be the pattern....I was kind of excited for the 2nd album and I can't say I have revisited it at all

The first album was just so good that I can’t ever expect them to recreate that. Truly a no skip album.
Wish they were coming a little further south to DC/VA on their tour but I’ll hold out for the next one.
