Yeah, Eddie solo = "rock show"? I think not. Some people's behavior is really appalling. The best is when those a-holes get into "What did you say? I'll kick your ass!" mode.“I worked really hard on this set. I just told you we’re gonna have a great night, so I don’t need any fuckin’ help from anybody.” EV, 7/2/090

all you have to due is pay and your in
there are many, many, many a-holes in the 10C.
Unfortunately, there seem to be more an more jerkoffs at shows, PJ in particular.
After seeing NY1 and NJPAC shows, I saw radiohead in jersey city at a festival.
One thing I noticed was how much more respectful the fans were at the radiohead show. There were times you could hear a pin drop during the slow songs, and that was 30,000 fans.
I dont know why, but PJ and EVs shows attract a number of loudmouth drunks.0 -
I was sitting right next to this guy, row E seat 3. I really think more needs to be said about what really happened here. When I first got my tickets I was soooo excited as this was the closed I have ever been. Then when we went to our seats the guy was already drunk holding 3 drinks, accusing me of spilling 8 of his drinks that apparently he was imagining. So, the show start and he begins singing loudly, I politely ask him to be a little quieter. He did not stop, a few songs later the two people in from of him went to complain and security came and said something to him. Then all of a sudden in his "rocking out" he starts banging violently on the ladies chair in front of him, she turns around and asks him to stop, he keeps banging on her freakin chair. At this point we got up, went and got a security guard explained what was going on, directed them to him, and with the concurence of everyone around they walked him out. At this point I was a little mad because he ruined part of the show for everyone around, but I was Ok because security had dealt with it. This next part is why I am really angry, two songs after they walked him out civily, he comes back in and sits back down next to me!!!!!!! Starts threatening me, asking why I would get him kicked out and what did he do, blah, blah blah. Then a little while later he went into his wild yelling rage an yeah everyone saw what happened next.
We stayed for about a half hour after the show because I was not leaving till I spoke to someone from the venue. After basically getting the cold shoulder, I finally got to talk to the head of security and riverside manager . . . I explained what happened, voiced my opinion . . not really sure if it did much, but whatever.
My point is yes I believe the guy should have his membership revoked, and I understand there is no precedence, but getting arrested (security told me he was arrested) at a show, I believe should set that precedence. I am honestly more mad at the venue for allowing him to come back in after I got security to get him out the first time.
Thats all I got . . .0 -

You were the guy that had the hat on. I was the guy that sat right in front of you. That was horrible you had to experiance that. It was a relief when he finally got thrown out. I knew he was going to be trouble when he exclaimed real drunk and loud. "This show is going to fucking rock"
You're right though. The ushers did not do their job until the end. He ended up hitting the black guy that sat behind him as he got dragged out. That dude almost knocked him out..........I wish he would have.0 -

Yeah I was the guy with the hat. I guess we have a little different perspective on this matter than most on the board
. It should have never gotten to that point, yeah I felt real great when this violent drunk dude who knows I had him booted comes and sits back down next to me. But thanks for the support when I brought security the FIRST (well actually SECOND) time. 0 -

I'm not seeing your point here.
There's a HUGE difference between arena rock shows and acoustic shows in small venues.
I think this is obviously over some peoples heads0 -

well, my friend and i have discussed this . . . we determined that there is approximately 70% of the people (depending on the venue) that go to PJ shows who are Meat Heads, or Meat Sticks if you prefer, or for short just Meat. We also concluded that its more a 40/60 split at the Eddie shows, in that 40% fan club, with presumably some sort of understanding about what Eddie is about, and 60% Meat.
But, its all scewed b/c this guy claimed he was a 10C member . . . just goes to show that even the 10C people can be assholes as well, which reminds me of the tall kid and his bitch girlfriend who stood in front of me in the 2nd row in Tampa, literally stood in front of me, obviously got into the row by the help of their friends' tix, and when i ask them to slide over a bit and asked where are their seats, i was met with a "what do you care, fuck you" comment from the bitch girlfriend. And where I come from a fuck you comment, in that setting, must be met with a forearm to the chest of the tall kid, just to slide him over a bit. Young, drunk people never realize that fuck you comments shouted into ones face usually begets violence . . . AHHH the enlightened members of the 10C . . . in NY we call em steakheads, or steak for short0 -
I don't know what it is about Pearl Jam, but they attract a huge amount of idiots to their shows. Actually, the first EV show here in Vancouver was probably the worst show I've ever been to in terms of crowd beligerence, inappropriate and stupid yelling. I wish I could've gotten a refund for the show because I went to hear Eddie sing, not hear a bunch of morons yelling shit for two hours. It's an acoustic theater show and half the people there are trying to have a conversation with Eddie by yelling dumb shit. At least at a full on Pearl Jam show you don't notice it as much.
I saw Radiohead last night and it was amazing..I'm right in a pocket of people who are totally respectful of eachothers space, people are just vibing to the music, everyone was enjoying the show. Loved it.0 -
what should of been posted on the front page of ed's playbill and the doors of each theatre before entering the show is ..
"act your age when sitting in your seat, act like a gentlemen, stay quite, respect the person in front/back/sides of you. let the man of golden words speak in peace. and .. have a great time"

At the Foo Fighters Acoustic gig at the Pantages... there were these two shitheads in the 4th or 5th rows that would stand up and high-five and yell stuff. Again, this is the Foos... so, it's completely different... but Dave Grohl really knew how to handle them.
He said, 'Yeah.. yeah... we see you. You don't need to say look at me! look at me!'
They said they were from Virginia... WHOOOO-HOOO! and Dave said, "See... that's why I moved out here."
He saw one of them was wearing a 'Tool' T-Shirt and he said... "TOOL, eh? That's pretty discriptive".
when they kept yammering... he said, "Get these guys backstage. I mean the REAL backstage... where we park the trucks. We'll put you in the truck where the keep the box of dildos and Vasaline. Yeah, you'll have something to Whoo-hooo about..."
And he went on and one til they sat back down... He told them just sit back, relax... it's an acoustic show, not the big loud rock show. Let everyone enjoy it.
...
Ed should hang out with Dave.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

or does he think he's pretty cool because now he's got a story to tell about getting booted out of an EV show?
-i wouldnt be able to tell people about it, id be so ashamed,
i respect eddie so much that it would be horrible to think of later.
but hey im not legal to drink! hahahha.
hope that guy feels like a dumbass.0 -
The two Vancouver shows were harmless and the yelling, although amusing at times, was mildly bothersome. I spoke to security prior to the show on the 2nd night and suggested they maybe keep an eye on them, and for the most part they did and gave them the "SSSHHHH" once or twice...
Anyway, at the Gorge in 2006 a drunk guy tried to pick a fight with me (he was trying to get into my seat) and my hubby gave him quite the look, so he threatened to hit the other girl next to me...He was spilling his beers all over everyone and swearing and screaming and yelling "Ed said you gotta take care of me!! Ed said!!!" The guy could hardly stand up. He kept trying to sit in other peoples seats, but eventually realized he was on the wrong side of the venue and we never saw him again....
At the Bridge, another drunk guy, in front of us (so 5th row on Mike's side) also drank until he could not stand up. He was screaming along to pretty much every song and actually whacked the lady in front of him VERY hard on the head. We asked him to maybe tone it down please, we have driven a LONG way to see this show, c'mon man....and we got an FU...I think when he fell over, security took him away...but why were they still serving him alcohol??
I say unless the show is in a bar....No alcohol at PJ shows, unless you're onstage...Why the heck you want to get a prime seat and then drink yourself into beligerence is totally beyond me.
My husband said they should just shut down the 10Club if people are going to be sooo entitled and scream about it.be philanthropic0 -
The guy down on the floor wasn't the only guy. There was also a very large man up on the second floor doing the same thing.
I posted this bulletin on myspace this morning. Tammymarie67
HE has layed out a set list before us........ Thanks Ed!
Body: Last night, perhaps, was not a good night for Eddie Vedder in Milwaukee. I can't speak for him but I was part of the experience and I was ashamed and a bit angry about what happened.
Don't get me wrong, the show was great!
This man, this really FAT self absorbed glutton of a man, kept YELLING REALLY LOUD. First, Ed made a joke about it saying how it was his show and his name on the marque etc.... Then he directly asked the man to stop being so loud, saying amusing things like this is your first time in velvet seats and I was going to have an Old Milwaukee after the show but now I'm having second thoughts....
THEN he actually said CAN YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP??????
After a couple more songs the stupid self absorbed asshole did it AGAIN. Ed feel right out of his chair face first on the stage and layed there for a minute or two. Then he started doing push ups and everyone started counting. He didn't say anything more to the man.
The big mouth man was sitting over in the next section and security went over to talk to him, they should have removed him but he was so big and fat, it would have taken probably 6 guys to try to drag him out. They must have given him a warning cuz he didn't make a peep the rest of the show.
When the security guard told him to be quiet, he said "IT is my right"
What about everyone else's rights to enjoy the show and respect for Ed? You may want to hear a certain song but he has prepared something special for us and we should be thankful for WHATEVER he plays!!! I know I was! Ed quoted, I think he said Bruce Springstein, called him uncle Bruce that He(ED) doesn't only have to look out for himself but for all the other people here that are trying to enjoy the experience.... Thanks Ed!
One time I was at a REM concert and people kept shouting and Michael Stipe said "I am not a jukebox!"
People. like this "entitled" man, need to wake up and realize that THEY are not the only person that matters and it is better to give (keep your mouth shut) than receive.

We do not punish the many for the actions of a select few. I have been a 10C member for 14 years and I like to have a few beers.
Most people are respectful and know "when to say when." To say no more Ten Club and no more alcohol is ludicrous.
