I don't know what it is about Pearl Jam, but they attract a huge amount of idiots to their shows. Actually, the first EV show here in Vancouver was probably the worst show I've ever been to in terms of crowd beligerence, inappropriate and stupid yelling. I wish I could've gotten a refund for the show because I went to hear Eddie sing, not hear a bunch of morons yelling shit for two hours. It's an acoustic theater show and half the people there are trying to have a conversation with Eddie by yelling dumb shit. At least at a full on Pearl Jam show you don't notice it as much.

I saw Radiohead last night and it was amazing..I'm right in a pocket of people who are totally respectful of eachothers space, people are just vibing to the music, everyone was enjoying the show. Loved it.

what should of been posted on the front page of ed's playbill and the doors of each theatre before entering the show is ..

"act your age when sitting in your seat, act like a gentlemen, stay quite, respect the person in front/back/sides of you. let the man of golden words speak in peace. and .. have a great time" :)

At the Foo Fighters Acoustic gig at the Pantages... there were these two shitheads in the 4th or 5th rows that would stand up and high-five and yell stuff. Again, this is the Foos... so, it's completely different... but Dave Grohl really knew how to handle them.
He said, 'Yeah.. yeah... we see you. You don't need to say look at me! look at me!'
They said they were from Virginia... WHOOOO-HOOO! and Dave said, "See... that's why I moved out here."
He saw one of them was wearing a 'Tool' T-Shirt and he said... "TOOL, eh? That's pretty discriptive".
when they kept yammering... he said, "Get these guys backstage. I mean the REAL backstage... where we park the trucks. We'll put you in the truck where the keep the box of dildos and Vasaline. Yeah, you'll have something to Whoo-hooo about..."
And he went on and one til they sat back down... He told them just sit back, relax... it's an acoustic show, not the big loud rock show. Let everyone enjoy it.
    ...
Ed should hang out with Dave.

The two Vancouver shows were harmless and the yelling, although amusing at times, was mildly bothersome. I spoke to security prior to the show on the 2nd night and suggested they maybe keep an eye on them, and for the most part they did and gave them the "SSSHHHH" once or twice...

Anyway, at the Gorge in 2006 a drunk guy tried to pick a fight with me (he was trying to get into my seat) and my hubby gave him quite the look, so he threatened to hit the other girl next to me...He was spilling his beers all over everyone and swearing and screaming and yelling "Ed said you gotta take care of me!! Ed said!!!" The guy could hardly stand up. He kept trying to sit in other peoples seats, but eventually realized he was on the wrong side of the venue and we never saw him again....

At the Bridge, another drunk guy, in front of us (so 5th row on Mike's side) also drank until he could not stand up. He was screaming along to pretty much every song and actually whacked the lady in front of him VERY hard on the head. We asked him to maybe tone it down please, we have driven a LONG way to see this show, c'mon man....and we got an FU...I think when he fell over, security took him away...but why were they still serving him alcohol??

I say unless the show is in a bar....No alcohol at PJ shows, unless you're onstage...Why the heck you want to get a prime seat and then drink yourself into beligerence is totally beyond me.

My husband said they should just shut down the 10Club if people are going to be sooo entitled and scream about it.

The guy down on the floor wasn't the only guy. There was also a very large man up on the second floor doing the same thing.

I posted this bulletin on myspace this morning. Tammymarie67

HE has layed out a set list before us........ Thanks Ed!

Body: Last night, perhaps, was not a good night for Eddie Vedder in Milwaukee. I can't speak for him but I was part of the experience and I was ashamed and a bit angry about what happened.
Don't get me wrong, the show was great!

This man, this really FAT self absorbed glutton of a man, kept YELLING REALLY LOUD. First, Ed made a joke about it saying how it was his show and his name on the marque etc.... Then he directly asked the man to stop being so loud, saying amusing things like this is your first time in velvet seats and I was going to have an Old Milwaukee after the show but now I'm having second thoughts....

THEN he actually said CAN YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP??????

After a couple more songs the stupid self absorbed asshole did it AGAIN. Ed feel right out of his chair face first on the stage and layed there for a minute or two. Then he started doing push ups and everyone started counting. He didn't say anything more to the man.

The big mouth man was sitting over in the next section and security went over to talk to him, they should have removed him but he was so big and fat, it would have taken probably 6 guys to try to drag him out. They must have given him a warning cuz he didn't make a peep the rest of the show.
When the security guard told him to be quiet, he said "IT is my right"

What about everyone else's rights to enjoy the show and respect for Ed? You may want to hear a certain song but he has prepared something special for us and we should be thankful for WHATEVER he plays!!! I know I was! Ed quoted, I think he said Bruce Springstein, called him uncle Bruce that He(ED) doesn't only have to look out for himself but for all the other people here that are trying to enjoy the experience.... Thanks Ed!

We do not punish the many for the actions of a select few. I have been a 10C member for 14 years and I like to have a few beers.

Most people are respectful and know "when to say when." To say no more Ten Club and no more alcohol is ludicrous.

Not sure who it was, but when the crowd was shouting-out song titles, the singer replied:

"Yes, I am well aware of my back catalog" .

I propose Pearl Jam hire a 3rd guitarist, specifically former Dokken guitarist George Lynch.
Then in his honor the band should change the fan club name from 10 club to Lynch Mob, it is more appropriate these days.

Its just part of going to shows. Now about those damn phones.....................

Sorry, but I gotta disagree with you. I don't think it's part of going to EVERY rock show. There are plenty of artists whose shows are not about getting drunk and screaming and yelling. Frankly, I think it's time for the band to get involved and seriously consider not selling beer at any of the shows. Some people cannot just have one and stop there. There seems to be an inordinate amount of drunk people at PJ shows. If people cannot do without a drink for two hours, they have a problem and they don't belong at a concert ruining it for everyone else.

I agree the 10C should consider revoking the membership of these a-holes. Why should the rest of us have to suffer?

It should have never gotten to that point, yeah I felt real great when this violent drunk dude who knows I had him booted comes and sits back down next to me. But thanks for the support when I brought security the FIRST (well actually SECOND) time.
My wife and I were sitting right across the isle from you guys.....and talked to Sean (that's his name) at the pre-party for a while. Yeah he was wasted but at the time, I didn't think it was bad enough for him to get kicked out....but we had a isle between us. My wife was at the restroom when they took him out the first time and they told him if they had to come back again he was going to jail. When he came back in, from what I saw was him just being drunk and singing loud. I didn't think he deserved to be kicked out.....BUT I didn't realize he was threatening people and kicking the chairs.

Guess there's more to the story than what I saw and I was sitting right there. But did you really think you deserved to get a refund for your tickets?

Might come across as a tad hypocritcal while Ed sips his wine and Stone and Matt enjoy their Heinekens.
Plus I doubt any 20,000 seat venue would agree to close the taps and forego that revenue for the night.

I haven't been to the EV solo shows, but it sounds like there are a lot of these jackasses in the crowd.

Pretty sad PJ fans, pretty sad (Yeah, I know most of you on this board aren't THAT guy...but it's really pathetic to know there are so many of them out there).

I had an aisle seat and the security and the drunk guy fell on me while they were dragging him out. I also then got jabbed a few times with the other guys crutches while they were trying to get the drunk guy out.
Come on people why in the world would you act like this? Seriously I just don't get it.
It was still an awesome show but could have been so much better if there weren't so many rude jerks in the crowd.

Yes that would show his true character- is he beating himself up(because sometimes people just have too much fun especially when they are really looking forward to something- they just get carried away in the moment) or are they showing off, I think maybe the hecklers are just showing off- it doesn't seem to matter to them they are pissing people off cause they are getting noticed

Yes, that was the guy, and I am not surprised by your conversation with him cause he said similar stuff to me, as far as his friend with the crutches I have no problem with him, he was respectful the whole time and just trying to get his buddy to get a grip . . but at the end just gave up and leans over to me and says I am outta here because I am not getting arrested for this idiot!

When he is not so drunk he may be a decent guy, but considering he was holding 3 mixed drinks for himself right when we sat down and got more after that . . im pretty sure he was a little worse than when you talked to him . . the only reason I went and got someone was because he was violently banging on the older ladies chair in front of him, she turned around and sternly asked him to knock it off and he started doing it even more. I have many good memories from the show and that guy will not be what I take away from the show . . . but I still felt that I had to voice my opinion to the managers of the venue for letting a guy that annihilated come back in after getting pulled out the first time . . . at no point did I ask for anything nor expect anything.
