This is just a continuation of what started with the US tour last fall. No openers means longer shows, more rarities. I think they set the bar higher for their live shows and it started last fall. Amazing.
I wonder how it will feel to seem them under more "normal" circumstances in the future after having been spoiled like this?! I'm jealous of the shows I'm not at, but certainly feel blessed to have caught 4 shows on this incredible tour!
We'll probably find out with the 2 festival shows later in the week! I would imagine they'll be the shortest sets of the tour?

Am I alone in thinking "Strangest Tribe" is overrated?? To me it's always been one of those songs whose appeal lay primarily in its rarity. I mean, it's cool they played it, but I could think of a hundred Pearl Jam songs I'd rather hear.

But that's the point, isn't it? I don't think there are too many around here would put ST in their top 10, 20 or even 30 songs, but the chance to hear a rarely played gem is pretty cool.

em jot - that's a tragedy. I feel for you.... I had the same thing happen many years ago. But all I requested was Oceans...
Strangest Tribe... wow... Just wow
It was a request for our friend, we did it for him, we were holding separate sheets of paper with single letters on them, saying Strangest Tribe. Ed said that if we can spell some other song out of those letters we might get a chance to hear it We then put Bee Girl up, he smiled a lot when he noticed it, then Garden... So they played Bee Girl later on that night. And Strangest Tribe and Garden tonight...

I know I'm risking the wrath of thousands when I say I've never been a Leash fan. I think it's one of their most overrated songs. Can't understand all the love for it & I was actually disappointed when they folded to the pressure & brought it out of its deserved retirement.
Sorry!

I know it stings but you are most likely responsible for it getting played at all. I can't see it being a coincidence.

Yes and no: it's nice when rarities pop up, but I'd still rather hear a song I like that I've heard dozens of times before than one I don't that I've never heard. To me, "Strangest Tribe" feels like a song that's become overvalued not because it's an incredible song but because it'd never been played. I just don't think I've ever gotten this one.
