10 Club Tickets - buying in pairs

UFFYUFFY Posts: 70
Don't know if anyone else feels the same but do you think 10C should give an option to buy single tickets? I had spares for all shows I went to and lost the money on my second tickets as only needed one. It put pressure in me as a female solo traveller to stand outside venues basically advertising this fact and also took a lot of the excitement out of my pre show experience. Nevermind the amount of money I lost because they didn't sell..! I agree with an upper ticket limit of two but how difficult would it be to also allow single ticket purchases. A lot of fans miss out in lotteries and by allowing single ticket sales this would free up more available tickets for other fans. #bankruptnow!!

Try posting your extras here. I've never had a problem finding someone to take my spare ticket when I post it here.

I imagine they don't offer singles because it makes it more complicated to layout the rows of tickets.

I agree. I would like that option back when 10club used to offer single 10club ticket sales. It gives paying 10club members who want to be at the show a better chance to score tickets to the show they want to see.

I will admit my extra Berlin went to waste. But it's also the only time that's happened and I've had spares for four shows this tour.

I was wondering why 10c doesn't offer single tickets, when they would sell out either way. It's interesting to see how many people (including myself) don't have a concert buddy. Guess we could all post on the forum prior to the sale and try to make connections. If I still don't have a concert buddy (or 10c doesn't change their policy) by the next tour, I may have to try that.

I am 2 for 2 with selling my extra 10C through this forum. And both were positive experiences (i.e. meeting another 10C members / fellow fans).

I tried to sell here and outside venue but when I travel I like to see the places and enjoy the gigs not stand around for hours. Also no one about to give them away if they didn't have one. I tried..!!
Just would be a better all round experience to just buy the one ticket I need and free up the spare for others.

I was thinking about this too... seeing all the spare Oslo and Stockholm tickets made me think about this. I didn't even try to get rid of mine seeing how many other people were trying and failing... I just ate the cost and went by myself. At least this way I now have a ticket and wristband in good condition to frame with the poster...

Yea I'd be pro this option or at least having the choice, think of how many people missed out on Leeds as everyone got two, I sold my spare on here but for MK which didn't sell out I'm going to make a loss as I'm the only pearl jam fan in my friend group, choosing one would be much better imo

Yeah, that would be fine... i wonder if it wouldn't almost bring the ticket buddy thing to an end though, since spare tix would be almost non-existent. And the ticket buddy thing is awesome. So actually, I'm not sure. I see positive and negatives for both options.

Part of me would like this, as I usually attend alone, but part of me likes hooking up other club members that weren't so lucky and seeing how happy they are to get the ticket. The tables have turned on me this time around as I missed out on the lottery for both of the shows I put in for, so now I'm hoping to find another kind member to hook me up.

If anybody has a spare to Memphis this Fall, please keep me in mind. I'm coming from Nashville solo. Would like to avoid all those scalper sites and actually mingle with people that will actually be there to share the experience with me. Thanks guys.

I was hoping to run into someone pre-show and do that, but no luck... I had an extra "Like a Boss" ticket for Gold Coast that I couldn't give away too... I think I must travel in the wrong circles. I might need to spend less time pre-show at art museums and more at bars, huh? :)

In my case it was partially my fault. I thought my spare was taken, but realize a day before the show it wasn't. I posted that I had a spare available but no one messaged me. The day of the show I got to the venue kinda late because my morning sightseeing ran later than I intended. I had already seen so many people had spares so I figured no one would be standing outside the venue trying to buy one. I WAS gonna offer mine for free to a random person but Wuhlheide is kinda of in the middle of nowhere, I don't think many people were even going to go there without a ticket. Again, I could be wrong as I didn't get there till like 6pm. I sat outside for a while and had a bite to eat with my extra ticket sitting out in plain view just in case but didn't get approached. In AMS 1 AND Milan there were people outside buying tickets, not so for Berlin. I do mean PEOPLE btw not scalpers. I saw the scalpers at Berlin and decided I'd rather let it go to waste.

On the upside I was able to send the unused wristband to a girl in Lithuania who lost hers.So while it does suck, and serves as motivation to make sure I sort out STL in advance, at least SOME good came out of it.

At Vienna I got offered €30 by a tout. I declined as rather try and give it away than let them rip someone off. They missed out anyway by the looks of it as there were so many spares going.

I've being buying pairs and trading the spare for a while now. The one thing that bugs me though is paying the upfront cost of the pair, knowing it could be 6 months or more, before you meet your ticket buddy and recoop the cost. It's not cheap booking hotels, flights, etc when the tour news is announced!

I like the ticket pairs for me who usually travels alone. It means I normally find myself a ticket buddy to have beers with as I have a spare ticket. I usually don't have a problem selling them on here with the bonus of finding a need friend.

I had done both, buying a spare for Manchester in 2009 and Dublin in 2010 and selling my spare one for London in 2009 and Amsterdam 2014, however I also wasted Belfast 2010 and Amsterdam 2012 so I'm not really sure, I guess it could be good to be able to choose between a single one or a pair.

I think singles are workable for GA if they continue to offer that option.

All I need is 1 GA ticket and being on here and seeing unwanted/unneeded GA extras being traded for other unwanted/unneeded GA extras kind of sux

It happens though unfortunately!! think of the spares that are being wasted which others could have had in the lottery. I didn't want to waste mine but had no choice - these spares could have made up pairs for other fans who missed out in the lottery.
I would be reluctant to book travel, hotels etc without having firm confirmation from 10c that I have a ticket. People get ill, things crop up and your ticket buddy may not be able to make the pick up. Singles make sense to me - it's not rocket science!!
