A very sad day for my fanhood :-(. Cicumstances making me rid myself of SEVENS and Vault LPs.....

Ok, sorry for the sob story. The reason I absolutely need to get rid of SEVENS and the Washington DC set is because of a string of TERRIBLE luck that has left me on the brink of eviction and nowhere to turn to. This winter I was in a head on collision (two Bro's going to party on a Friday night ran a yellow light, cop wrote it as a 'no fault' and REALLY screwed me) and ended up having to dip into funds to buy a new car. Then, a month later I blew my knee out and ended up going broke due to NYS' abysmal disability and going flat broke right before I began work again vtwo month's later. Barely made it thru until this month when an accident broke my hand. Now I'm back on disability with no emergency money left. I owe about $1000 and have $0 due to being on disability already for three weeks now. I just graduated college so I didn't have much to begin with.

I've been apart of 10C since 2004 and now I need your guys' help more than ever. I'm selling SEVENS and the Vault vinyl sets. I don't want eBay prices because that's not fair but at the same time I can't be offered face value...I'm on a cliff and I'm worried about a lot that's going on. I'd rather the sets go to another 10C member than a random auction winner. Please, only generous offers....

I also have a VERY VERY VERY RARE pre-1920's Washburn Steel String guitar that I have set a firm price of $1800 for. It was my great great uncle's guitar who used it to play in the USO and played it on stage with Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra at certain military bases. The guitar has been restored but now has a crack in it's body that needs to be fixed again. The model is one of the first steel string guitars Washburn ever made and the guitar is dear to my heart. The guitar has ladder brackets, not the traditional X bracketing modern day guitars have.

I want it to go to a true collector that has the proper humidity controlled room/case to keep it safe. The crack costs about $300-400 to fix BUT the guitar is almost 100 years old. This I also have to part with. I'm so heartbroken:-(

Sorry to hear your troubles, but you can't have auctions here. List your prices.

  • shit...thought the rules meant technical auctions. I can't name a price because people will turn on me I feel....I'd like $150 for Washington DC and $200-250 for SEVENS. I'm in a tight spot and I feel absolutely horrible :-(

    I'm tearing up just typing this :-{

those are fair prices for both and no one should turn on you knowing you are in a dire situation. i wish you the best..stay strong. lean on PJ music!!
  • Maybe do a raffle? I have no clue how to do one. Biggest problem is I don't have a secure bank acct to set anything up with (work/disability goes on a Paycheck debit card) so I might have to use my mom's acct to set up a fund raiser. I have Wilco: Kicking Television too.

Don't worry what others think. Its your decision to set prices where you see fit. I just wanted to point out the auction thing a mod did.

    Good luck with your sales!!!

  • I need to know how to set up a raffle on here! It'd be the fairest way to set something up for my vinyl sets and would probably help me the most!

I read it as manhood and was a click away from donating, but alas tis only your fanhood.

Do you not have any other closer network of people that can help you through the tough time? You mentioned your mom, perhaps she would be willing to help?
  • She helped me through the last disability debacle. We're not wealthy people and this band has meant sooooooo much to my growth as a person. This is my ONLY option now :-(

best wishes compadre, if I had the cash I'd take you up on sevens in a heartbeat. In the end they are just possessions, you will miss them, but eventually logic will hit your brain and overpower the emotion of the object. Taking care of your life outweighs anything. Peace and good fortune in the future, as that is all that matters.

Oh man, that sounds awful. Don't sell that guitar! You will regret it forever. Fair prices on the vinyl. Wish I had some funds to help out. Good luck.
  • Thanks for the support guys!
  • waiting for a return PM. Think SEVENS and Washington are both sold. Thanks!
  • I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. I know what it is like to be in a tight spot and having to sell my guitars. Things will turn around for you. I just hope it's sooner than later. Good luck My friend.
