I find it a tad bit asinine that shipping is $8.99 for a patch...or a lapel pin. Maybe that's just me though.

It is, but I think the idea is you add some stuff to it to make the shipping amount "worth it"

1 album since 2009 and an absurd amount of tshirts and merch in between. I remember Binaural-era there were like, five different tshirts for sale on the website. I guess it just cheapens what Pearl Jam is to me when it seems they're so interested in the merchandising side of things. Oh well, I'll continue to vote with my wallet and not buy this stuff. Just my opinion.

The women's stuff is borderline offensive right now, has been for some time too.
I wanted a Euro tour dates shirt but I really dislike that dalek thing on the black shirt & I can't wear white. Boooooooo.

Love the lapel pin & tote bag. For anyone wondering, I have that tote and it's better quality than the old red/black ones.

The women`s stuff has sucked for a while, all they need to do is put the same design on most of the guys shirts on a women`s shirt and voila. The only exception being the mountain bike tire made in the northwest tank, which looks horrible in the shop pics but totally kicks ass.

I've made my peace with the amount of merch being peddled. I just wish the shirts and hats were more appealing. The last few years there have been very few items that impressed me.

Meh... nothing looks interesting to me. Yep... not worth the shipping for patch or tote bag I don't need.

As with anything, if people didn't buy it and/or pay the prices, they wouldn't do it. It doesn't blow my mind that that they sell so much merchandise. It blows my mind that people buy it. I just don't understand it. I like a lot of things, but I have no desire to have that same thing on a t-shirt, pair of socks, grocery bag, hat, lighter, jacket, etc. I stopped enjoying stickers when I was old enough for the dentist to stop giving them to me after a good check-up. And patches, lapel pins...I don't know. I'm sure I enjoy things that others don't understand, but to me, a band is about the music, and it basically ends there for me.

What's offensive about it? I mean, I think the designs are pretty bad but I don't see where there is offense to be taken. What am I missing here?

Well no, not really. They toured for a few months last year and a few months this year. When you compare that to other bands, it's actually pretty light on the touring. i'm not complaining (well maybe a little :)) but I felt the need to defend that posters argument). In comparison to many other bands, PJ has a very light touring schedule (hence the crazy demand for tickets).

edit: I added up the shows from last year and this. Two years of touring had 62 shows. That's pretty small when you consider tours like 2000 (or 98, 03, 06) would have 72+ in a tour that took place in a single year. PJ hasn't been a band that tours very heavy in the first place, but it's getting very light these days.

I really like it. Not sure about people's fashion sense around here...reminds me a lot of the QOTSA summer merch. Love the simple design. The low cut neck is hot and the quality of the shirt is obviously much better than a normal long sleeved t-shirt (from images).

I guess if it's not flannel (or tie-dye for BB Hank) or a white t-shirt, people around here aren't going to like it. :-?
