Benny question…

My wife just purchased a sealed Benny for me and when it arrived it was numbered GAS 2012/2000. The story she was told by the seller was "This was hand delivered by Ed to a radio station for a promo giveaway. The guy that sold it to me said he also numbered it. I can't confirm that though. It's #d 2012/2000 so I think he did it as a joke."
Is there anyway to confirm this story?

    Someone also has received a Benny that was marked with GAS. It was posted over @ http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/179409/benaroya-hall-lps-revised-current-owners-list/p1

    I won a GAS numbered Benny from a Seattle radio show auction once. Someone at the station that I spoke to told me it was donated by a band member.
