I'm sure there is a good reason, but does anyone know why they are waiting so long to release the bootlegs from these amazing shows??? I was at all 3, and would LOVE to own them so I can hear all these AWESOME shows again!!!

To my knowledge, they've never said why. I'm hoping it's because they want to make those releases special since they're not just your typical boots.

There are some great bootleg DVD's available that have held me over just fine. I almost hope they don't release them now. Keep them special.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

I would say its partially this, and for PJ20 the number of special guests, etc may complicate things

There are some great fan made Blu-rays available that have held me over just fine. I almost hope they don't release them now. Keep them special.

True! But would be sweet to have a SBD audio release of these shows. Wish they could just release the show's digitally (MP3 & Flac) then release them physically on CD, like PJ's Gorge '05 & '06 shows. They first released Gorge '05 hours after the show online via MP3. And both Gorge '06 nights were released a few weeks later via MP3 & Flac. Then a year later? they released these 3 show's on silver CD's. I'm sure folks who would buy the digital files now won't mind to wait & purchase the CD when it's sold.

Why not just release a statement of the plans for the PJ 20 Boots (and MIA). Let us know there is a plan to release in the future or not.

The band was not rehearsed for the PJ20 shows. The performance was not even polished by PJ standards.

Also, Wrigley was a disappointment for the band. Listen to Ed at the end of the show and you can tell he's bummed.

the audience recordings of the PJ20 shows are better than most official bootlegs, so not even sure why it is still a big deal, I assume most people have heard the recordings, many shows with great audience recording end up with more polished sounds on the official bootlegs but many times you lose a lot of the crowd atmosphere and energy

The Wrigley audience recordings are pretty good as well...
I think I always end up listening to the one labeled "source 3" because it has a more balanced sound.

Don't forget about London Ontario 2013 which was actually a better show than Wrigley. Wrigley was cool because of the venu but the London set list was something else(and no delay) so release a boot or Bluray for London first.

I prefer the soundboards all the time. I have never heard an audience recording that sounded more "polished" than a soundboard. Are there multiple sources of PJ 20 out there? Because the recording I have sounds like shit. The Wrigley one I have is decent.

    Please release these boots!!!!

I've always assumed that this is why we don't have a DVD or boot of the Wrigley show, which is hard for me to imagine. I know they didn't get to play the set that they had planned but personally, I feel like the weather delay only makes the night more memorable. Not sure how many bands would have even bothered to come back out after that, let alone for them to deliver the way that they did. I also can't imagine that other bands' fans would have been so devoted to wait it out, especially after we drank, literally, all the beer left at Wrigley. My buddy and I managed to find one stand left with suds on the west end in the upper deck that was kind of hidden and double-fisted for a while, but that didn't last too long either.

I truly hope we get a feature video of this show someday. It was such an incredible night. No crazy guests or anything. A setlist with deep cuts and jams the way that only PJ can deliver. Legendary venue. And a t-storm story that only attests to the two-way dedication between this special band and its fans. There's just no topping all that.

I loved Wrigley. I've seen better concerts but as an event it rocked! Even with the weather delay. So glad I made the drive out there from nj.

    whoanelly,

That was a fantastic review and excellent perspective on Wrigley. Thank you for that.

Wrigley was indeed a very special night for many reasons listed above. Tough to top what happened that night. They still have so much audio and visual gathered from that show, that you know they're just waiting to release it all. Still blows my mind they haven't released ANYTHING from this show yet.

And come on, ERNIE BANKS came out on stage to address the crowd and sing immediately after the rain delay. Ernie and Ed sharing the stage. For crying out loud!

  • Eddie is a big fan of Bruce, right? Did you see Springsteen, just this month, released his New Year's Eve concert from 1975?

He literally waited longer than some of my classmates' lives to release a show.

Sad to say, I think we're in for a long wait on these boots. Why is the band waiting? I guess, for all we know, just because they can.

Not referring to the PJ20 or Wrigley shows. But the aud boot from the Moline show is better than the official boot IMO. The official boot loses the crowd's energy.

Like all of Eddie's solo shows, maybe PJ20 was supposed to be more of an intimate affair for only those who were in attendance...just on a larger scale, of course.
