This shit seems to never end. We live in a vicious society, killing is nothing to some empty souls who have no value for life. Sad sad sad....
  • Everybody stay inside your homes.

Emergency response team get snipers ready.

Take him down- fatally. No more chances necessary with three officers already killed in the line of duty.

Please let him be the only other victim today.

Hopefully they get this guy before anyone else is hurt and my thoughts go out to the families of the RCMP officers lost today ... just so very tragic.

This is a pretty crazy story...First Blood in Moncton. Unreal that he's still at large.
I listened to an interview in which the witness said the shooter told him and his family to go inside...seems he's only after cops.
The satellite images I saw showed a lot of bush/forest to the west...and looking at a map...this guy could have had a vehicle stashed and been on the trans-canada within minutes. If they haven't found him yet and he is still in the area (apparently he's been spotted three times?), I would imagine that means he had some form of hideout planned...which means he probably has next steps planned as well. If it's a death-by-cop mission, killing as many as he can along the way....yikes. scary shit. I think it's safe to say this guy will be shot on sight. No cop will let him get to court.
The social media aspect of this has been a trip, too...he accepted friends this morning! facebook took his page down this afternoon.

Another perspective, seems it was possibly First Blood.

I, personally, have no opinion on this issue.

They got him without any additional violence. Guess I was wrong.

Names of the officers were released today.
One was my buddy, I am shocked. I figured after this was all settled we'd talk about it a bit and log some time gaming.

I agree with the others that have already said, "What a piece of shit bog." The idiot that wrote that is on par with those useless women who marry serial murderers serving life time in prison.

Unsung... are you serious? You have no opinion on this issue? You mean like you don't feel that this idiot was a AAA grade loser that needlessly took the lives of innocent people because he thought he was John Rambo?

And what a chicken shit Bourque is. He picked a fight and then tucked his tail between his legs and began whimpering once he realized he couldn't win.

    Wow.

I'm sorry for your loss and I feel horrible for your community.

I'm also going to apologize for seizing the moment, but I can't resist: the cop haters should take note- at least one of the cops was a human being who had friends and was a good guy.

Thanks everyone. To Thirty Bills Unpaid's point - he was the best type of guy you could ever meet. I didn't know the other two but knowing one humanizes the others, if that makes sense...

Very sorry to hear this. And yes, your point about humanizing does make sense.

I remember the good old days when you'd read a story like this and everybody in the world would know what country it was happening in. But now that the States have exported their way of life on a bunch of saps worldwide, we get stuck with things like this happening in Canada and other places that used to be nice and easy going spots.

I can see why you say what you're saying here but applying a bit of logic perhaps we should blame this kind of thing on the Brits seeing as the US was founded mostly by thugs, thieves, murderers, outcasts, miscreants, reprobates, rogues, scallywags, scoundrels, ruffians and all around bad guys from Great Britain.

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

This isn't America exporting this to us ... this type of thing happens all over the world. You just usually never here of it because it not in your neck of the woods. I wonder how many know the 4 RCMP officers were killed in Alberta in 2005.
